An FRO is a Final Restraining Order in a Domestic Violence case, it never deals with a name change. Name changes are allowed in a Judgment of Divorce. The key word is "permitted", it is not Ordered, you have a choice. Good luck.

You can choose not to resume your maiden name. As the sentence reads, you are "permitted" to resume your maiden name. In order to do so, you would have to go to all of the various entities/agencies, for example, DMV, Social Security, credit card companies, banks, etc., show them your certified judgment, and actually change your name. If you do not do that, you can continue to use your married name.
I think you meant to say "if paperwork 'from' court", instead of "if paperwork FRO court".
