My ex is threatening me that she will file an order to show cause against me since I have owed her for $8k for our children's medical expenses that I was supposed to pay her back two years ago, by the final divorce order. She was supposed to tell me about it in 90 days after she spent any money for our kids' medical expenses by the court order, but she did not tell me until now, in such a large sum of big money which I do have cash to pay at this time, I promised to her that I would pay her back on monthly basis until the end of this year, with 6% interest. I also told her in the past one and half years, I have voluntarily paid our kids for over $10k, for their holidays, summer camps, books, exams etc. I told my ex that $10k would cover $8k but she was very angry and refused my resolution. If we go to court, will I get trouble under this context? Will court accept that my $10k will cover my ex's $8k?

I have a client that is not answering the phone anymore and owes me over $50,000 on the amount due on the contract I'm thinking about filing a mechanics lien on the property and taking them to court what happens if I take him to court and the judge sees that my claim is valid and renders the decision, judgment on my behalf how do I collect my money? What happens to the excess proceeds if it is a foreclosure sale and who presides or delegates the sale of the property.

We are estranged. We sold our marital home and I leased an apartment— he is not on the lease. My husband has taken up residence at my apartment and I want him out. Can I ask a sheriff to remove him?

My brother-in-law has been married for 18 years and due to problems between them, she has filed for divorce. He has received a summons and has to respond within 30 days. His English is very limited and I'm looking for someone who speaks Spanish. His wife, is fluent in English and Spanish. He is not allowed to go back to the house and he needs to get all of his belongings. His wife gave him some stuff but not everything. Divorce has been ongoing since 2018. I have been Pro Se for a long time now as I no longer have any money to continue paying an attorney. I have been getting help with filings, research and etc. from a non-attorney. It would help me tremendously if I was allowed to have him present in the meeting.

Do courts automatically award property on a 50/50 basis? My spouse made false allegations against me to remove me from our home. Now we are going to trial for divorce and property distribution, and I would like to have my home back. But it seems that I am not treated equally in this circumstance. Despite the home being mutually owned and the charges being dismissed. I was the one who invested the majority of money and resources in the home. I was told the property might be ordered sold and I could bid on it, but I am not certain of how that process works.

I have filed for annulment. Summons were served to defendant and the 30 days response time has run out for the defendant. I am contemplating next steps and haven’t requested a hearing yet. Can the annulment be dismissed due to inactivity? Will the court have to send me a notice of dismissal before dismissing? Or does the court have to be give me a hearing date to appear for hearing before they can dismiss it due to inactivity? What do I need to do if I need some additional time to contemplate my next steps? P.S: Request to answer what has been asked

Hi, I got married in 2019 in North Dakota Ward County. I am a resident of Montana for more than 6 months. Me and my husband are separated for more than 6 months. There are no children no assets from marriage. No inheritance, nothing at all. Husband currently lives in North Dakota. My work place is New Jersey. Can i file divorce petition online in Montana? Husband is not willing to divorce but I am done. How long does it take to get divorce? Do I have to attend mediation since he is objecting the divorce?
