I was rear ended by tow driver with no serious injuries. My car is totaled. They want to private settle for $7000. Is that fair?
I was rear ended by a tow truck driver. My car is totaled. I have a contusion on my right lower leg and acute lower back pain. I missed a week of work. I received no car rental. The manager of the towing service wants to settle for $7000. Is that a fair price? Should I negotiate? I’ve been told the company is low balling me. Please need advice, thank you!
I do not know. More facts need to be known. More information needs to be known. Are you currently self-represented, or, in the alternative, do you have an attorney representing you? Did you previously have an attorney of record representing you?
You should at least consult with a licensed Motor Vehicle Accident/Personal Injury Attorney before you do anything else.
The value of your claim really depends on your injuries and treatment. You can reach out to a personal injury attorney and get a feel of the value of your claim. Some claims require the assistance of an attorney, and some don't.
Most of us offer free consultations.
Good luck
Kevin
You will probably need to consult with a personal injury attorney, there are many available on this platform. It will be helpful to provide more information about your incident, such as the date, the treatment you have received so far, and whether the money you referenced was offered by the company’s insurance or the company itself. Remember, each case is unique.
