I have had multiple court dates, how long does this take?
I filed for child support in September 2024, it has been over a year, and I have had multiple court dates. The other parent has not showed up and I keep being told the court dates will be pushed back when I know he is purposely not showing up but is aware of the filing. What do I need to do to push this through or how long am I going to keep pushing court dates back until this defaults?
In general, when you go through the Attorney General's Office (OAG) for child support services, you get what you pay for. It is not atypical for a suit through the OAG to take a year or more.
If you are looking for a quicker resolution, hiring counsel can help that along significantly.
