Analytic Law, LLC helps law firms and departments discover how to solve legal problems using analytic techniques, including data analytics, prediction systems, machine learning, game theory and behavioral economics.
Mr. Agin was previously of counsel to Swiggart & Agin, LLC, a firm he co-founded in 1999. Swiggart & Agin, LLC provides corporate, business and bankruptcy services, primarily in the technology industries. Mr. Agin focused his practice there on bankruptcy and insolvency, technology and Internet law. He also served as a panel Chapter 7 trustee for the District of Massachusetts.
Mr. Agin was a founding chair of the American Bar Association's Legal Analytics Committee. He also taught analytic techniques as an adjunct professor at Boston College Law School.
Internationally known for his work in technology and insolvency law, Mr. Agin chaired the American Bar Association's E-commerce and Insolvency Subcommittee from 1999 to 2005, chaired the Business Law Section's Technology Committee from 2005 to 2008, and served on the ABA's Standing Committee on Technology and Information Services from 2008 to 2011. He also previously co-chaired the Boston Bar Association's Internet and Computer Law Committee, and served on the steering committee for its Intellectual Property Section.
Mr. Agin authored the ABA's "Bankruptcy and Intellectual Property Deskbook" and "Bankruptcy & Secured Lending in Cyberspace," published by Thomson, and maintains the chapter on intellectual property for the Norton Bankruptcy Law and Practice treatise.
