Bold, Straightforward, Honest, & Passionate about helping people!

Seelye did an outstanding job getting the results I wanted/needed. Ms. Seelye is very straightforward and honest, which is exactly something I would want from a lawyer. Some of these reviews say she’s rude, but I don’t think so. She speaks directly to you and she is very honest. I find it helpful tha...t she tells me what I need to do to be back on the right path to rebuild my credit. If people are offended by her boldness, then I guess they don’t want to get the best results. I prefer a lawyer in this situation to be bold and tell me straight up instead of sugarcoating things. Seelye is knowledgeable, competent, honest, understanding, patient, and compassionate... she explained the process and ensured I understood what was going to happen and what to expect. Seelye is passionate and when she speaks to you, you can tell that she cares and wants to help. I think people just feel intimidated by her strong personality. Seelye is very caring and her client's mean more to her than money. I paid $750 plus a filing fee and that was all... It's hard to find lawyers who are not only affordable but would also go above and beyond to help you get back on your feet and start over from a clean slate. I'm glad I chose Brown & Seelye. I would highly recommend Brown & Seelye to anyone in need of legal representation in this area of law. Thank you Brown & Seelye.

I filed for Cap 7 bankruptcy in 2006. I can only state that Sue Seelye and her staff were very reassuring.

Sue Seelye and staff were extremely helpful and office staff were empathetic. Attorney Seelye was acting as a good attorney just give her the facts. The office staff was excellent in getting all of the paperwork in order. I think Attorney Brown was in the court when Bankruptcy was heard. Took a l...ot of pressure off of me and gave a clean slate. Witihin 6 months I was receiving credit card offers at low interest rates. Of course, I did not accept them all. I was concerned that if I did not have one credit card that I would not be able to pay for an emergency. So there you go.

Wonderful Experience

This is our first time in this situation and having to deal with an attorney ever, so needless to say we had questions and concerns. She was kind and answered all of our questions and eased our minds. Made the process a very smooth one. I would definitely recommend her.

Filling a complaint with the bar

My mother filed for chapter 7 with Brown & Seelye. I went with her to meet with Brown & Seelye due to the fact that my name was attached to some of her debt ie: Mortgages and lines of credit. However, I lived in the home not my mother and I had paid every payment on time and of course wanted to kee...p the home and make sure that the reaffirmation was done on the home loans and the specific credit lines were not included in this bankruptcy (this was whole purpose of me attending the meeting prior to my mother filing for bankruptcy). Although, the filing with the court stated that the reaffirmations were to be done and line of credit were not to be included the reaffirmation was never sent or completed with the banks and are showing as a negative remark on my credit. I am someone who has always had good credit never late on any payments EVER. I called their office several times and was told that it is the bank responsibility to send the reaffirmation paper work and not theirs and that no court is going to reopen the case to just do a reaffirmation and of course the bank is saying it was their responsibility. I do remember my mother paying Brown & Seelye for the services how is this now in my lap? Considering I, nor my mother are not bankruptcy attorneys how would we know to catch something that bankruptcy attorneys are fully aware of. Seems to me they are going through the motions and not the details. I have been very negatively affected and disappointed by the business they conducted and will filing a complaint with the bar.
