About Ryan
Biography
Practicing law is more than just a job; it's a calling. From a young age I made the decision that I would make my living representing good people who needed assistance navigating the often confusing waters of the legal system.
I established the Law Office of Ryan T. Darby in 2010 with a focus on providing the hard working members of our local community with legal representation that was aggressive, creative and accessible. I dedicate the bulk of my practice to protecting the free speech rights of my clients through legal representation that stops unmeritorious claims and supports individuals and organizations who find themselves unwittingly caught up in the civil court system.
I believe in providing personalized legal representation to each and every one of my clients, because I understand that no one ever wants to hire an attorney and the last thing you want in such a difficult situation is to feel left alone or passed along to someone less experienced than the person you hired.
As a member of the San Diego legal community it is my duty to support my community and give back when I can. I am the president of the San Diego Lawyers Chapter of the Federalist Society; a board member of the Lincoln Club of San Diego County; co-founder of the UCSD Military Veterans Scholarship Fund; and founder and past president of the San Diego Chapter of the Republican National Lawyers Association, as well as a member of the State Bar of California and the San Diego County Bar Association.
I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and first came to San Diego for my college education. I returned to San Diego in 2008, and have called the East Village my home ever since. Outside of the office I enjoy catching a local Padres game or watching my old football team, the San Francisco 49ers.
