Mr. Ray is a great Lawyer. I was caught going 62 in a 35 MPH zone on 472 Savannah HWY/Wesley Dr S 17. I was trying to get the highway to go to Tampa FL and I accidentally entered the city without paying attention to speed limit . I got caught by a police vehicle with a speed radar. . The ticket wa...s $445 and i was going to receive 6 points on my license. I was terrified that my insurance was going to raise and I had to drive back to Charleston SC for the court, so I did some researching online. I found great reviews on many lawyers but I was drawn to Mr. Ray. I contacted him and he was very professional and told me what was going to happen. He told me his price (which was very very reasonable), i agreed to it and signed a contract with him. The plan was NOT to show up on my court date and he would take care of everything on my behalf. Three days later, Mr. Ray contacted me and informed me that he was able to meet and talk to the officer who issued me the ticket and decided to reduce penalty of $ 445 to $ 81 and no point would be taken on my license. During that process Mr. Ray kept me updated on the case. He sent text as well as called. He always responded when i sent him texts even during late hours. I had a ticket in branchville for 19 over (49/30). The cop caught be right when about 50 feet away from the 45 mph sign (perfect speed trap i assume). I was nervous coz the cop mentioned that I can have my license suspended if SC sends the information over to NC as a 15 over seed limit in NC is a lic...ence suspension. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE for me as the law states that the min speed limit should be 55 mph for it to be applicable. Nevertheless looking inot avvo I saw that Ray had excellent reviews and he was the first one to respond (at 10 pm at night the same day) and I was impressed with his promptness and competency. I hired him right away. My interaction with him was via email which was great as I was out of state and he was always responsive to all of my questions however stupid they would be. That's an awesome trait in my book. The ticket was re-written from Speeding (49/30) to a to a non-moving violation (“No Registration in Possession”) which has no points which was less the the actual fine. Mr. Lord works very closely with the Columbia area police departments, and knows many people in this system personally. After asking numerous times to retreive a patrol car surveillance video due to over zealous police officers throwing me to the asphault in handcuffs, he denied the video being of an...y help and ignored my requests. He in fact told me it was best to apologize to the officers even though I was not violent towards them in any way and did very little in reducing my violation and fine. What a waste of time and money. I honestly believe he was working with the officers, (his recent co-workers) the whole time.
