Outstanding Meets Humanity

Mr. Hohenlohe was my first experience hiring a lawyer and taking legal action. I was discriminated and retaliated against due to a disability in graduate school. The case was a challenge as it was not a traditional employer/employee situation. I had been bearing this abuse on my own for three years a...nd he quickly gained a full understanding of the injustices, legal infractions and the impacts on my life and health. In hiring Philip Hohenlohe, I had gained not only legal representation, but an advocate. During the course of the grievance process, I often struggled with discerning appropriate action when we encountered impediments (as I had for the three years on my own). Phillip was always completely transparent and straightforward with me about what my options were, what those options entailed, and what he felt was best for me. He always ensured I had a full understanding before allowing me to commit to a decision, which gave me back my power and confidence that I always had full control of the case. On the single occasion I wanted to go a different route than recommended, I had his full support. He was sensitive to my limitations (my disability) and had a good, natural feel for when I needed time and when I needed encouragement to move forward in a timely manner (such as proceeding to the state level when the school failed to respond). He was extremely patient with my many questions and made room for my strong emotions while remaining professional and compassionate. I have never felt rushed or unimportant while working with him. I feel he cared about me as a whole person, getting what I could of my life back and what I needed for justice. He understood from the start that I did not want another graduate student to suffer the same discrimination and abuse. Mr. Hohenlohe has been with me from the day I hired him to ensure that appropriate policies were corrected and brought into compliance with the law. Mr. Hohenlohe continues to go above and beyond my expectations. He truly works WITH his client. Phillip is not just an exceptional lawyer, he is a remarkable human being. His manner with clients, opposition, and investigators was always cool, confident, and respectful. He not only has a prodigious knowledge of the law, he is committed to justice and his clients. Mr. Hohenlohe is personally invested and will fight for what is right.
