BEST FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY AROUND!

I can not say enough positive things about Mr. Kulas. Peter is hardworking, attentive to client concerns, and EXTREMELY knowledgable. Mr. Kulas is not in this business for the money, but to help families! On several occasions Mr. Kulas took the time to advise me on how to file certain paperwork wi...th the courts to save myself money. What other attorney would do that!!! Mr. Kulas really goes to bat for his clients and is very personable as well.

Knowledgeable Professional Determined Honest Focused Successful

I hired Peter due to the ratings on avvo based on what most of his client reviews said. I don't think I could ever have found someone so well suited for my divorce case as Peter. What I believed it would be, was a simple, straight forward, agreed upon divorce. I couldn't have been more stunned as wha...t it turned out to be, I still can't, but I'm divorced as of last Friday. My ex husband, who is a retired lawyer himself, who filed against me, decided to make his divorce from me a literal bloodbath. And he did, unfortunately. From the day Peter became my lawyer for our divorce, which was in May/2015, and ended in 1/2016. The path my husband and his attorney took was an unexpected living Hell. My now ex husband accused me of lying to the court as his first course. Then proceeded to escalate it to the point of 3 lawsuits, one filed against him by the DA with 2 felony charges and 2 misdemeanor charges of domestic abuse against me, one lawsuit filed by me in Court for an order of protection (OOP) against him which was given, a restraining order against his mistress by me, which was granted, and all being in another state. Including our divorce case. Peter had me as a client with 4 cases in 2 different states. Needless to say I was in another state calling Peter who is in Michigan, and he dealt with me and the entire outrageous situation. Me, who at that point was in a hysterical state because I had been assaulted by my now ex husband, (who at that time was still my husband) and his mistress who I didn't even know existed until that night, in my second home, in another state. This divorce nightmare kept on. My now ex husbands divorce lawyer withdrew from the case (can't imagine why) and then he hired someone exactly as nasty and unethical as my now ex husband is. They still came after me and Peter with a vengeance. And Peter, Never. Batted. An eye. Not once, he remained professional, courteous, determined, focused, and knowledgeable throughout. We had one mediation session which was required by the court. Because of my OOP, and Peter enforcing this order, even though it was from another state. I never had to see or speak to either my husband or his lawyer, the mediator (wonderful man) went back and forth between rooms. Because MIchigan is a no fault state everything is usually split 50/50. But if you can show cause, meaning one party is more responsible for the divorce then the other party that can change the split. Peter did, because during the divorce we learned my now ex husband was committing adultery, that cost my husband almost 10 percent of the 50/50. I agreed to a 58/42 split, which was a significant amount of money for me to gain, and my ex husband to lose. Any other lawyer would have probably withdrawn from this case, and I wouldn't blame them either. Just to not have to deal with my ex husband or his lawyer because they took this divorce to absurdity, or probably would have charged me triple, and be glad to finally be rid of me. But, not Peter. I know I will have a lifelong connection to him, and am so thankful and grateful to him. I had barely smiled since May, I have been to hell and back during this divorce. But, I haven't stopped smiling since Friday. I have started my new life, and won't look back with any sadness or regrets, and thank Peter both professionally and personally for helping me to get to this point in my life. I am forever grateful.

Not sure how he has this good of ratings!

I am not sure how Peter had this good of ratings. I discussed my case with Peter and he promised me the world. On my first hearing date he didn't show up and sent a substitute attorney. Due to some technical issues, the date got moved to next week. He had not read the opposing party's pleadings and w...as completely unprepared to where judgement went totally against me. Then I saw that taking phone calls and answering emails became less and less. At that point, I decided to hire another attorney that delivered. Peter refunded the retainer but took a good chunk out with unreasonable charges. At that point I was done with him so I just moved forward.

Very Professional

After doing some extensive research of attorneys in my area, I hired Peter to handle my divorce. To sum it up....Amazing. He worked very hard for me and the outcome was to my liking. He knows the laws and the way he handles himself is very professional. I would highly recommend Peter in any div...orce case. His fees are very reasonable and fair. He will keep you informed, return your emails and phone calls in a timely matter, and not leave you hanging out there wondering what's happening. Divorce is an ugly and emotional time in someones life I don't care who you are, and Peter not only helped me through it but represented me in a very professional manner. Top Notch!

A knowledgable and trustworthy attorney with a broad background.

Peter was great from the get-go. He kept me at ease and I never felt like I had anything to truly worry about. His advise was stellar and his rates reasonable. Peter was was trustworthy and very easy to talk to and confide in. I would definitely hire him again should the need arise and would recommen...d his services to anyone needing an attorney in the Grand Rapids areas.
