Horrible lawyer

A horrible lawyer. My union hired this lawyer to defend me against the city agency that I'm employed by. Mr shrier was assigned to me on 12-11-13 and didn't contact me until a day before my conference hearing which was scheduled for 12-17-13. This lousy lawyer postponed my hearing twice until I fire...d him and had him replaced. This lawyer is the worst lawyer ever..he didn't call me for five days after being assigned to my case and he even lied that he just received my file on the 16th of December.

Horrible Poor Excuse for a Lawyer

Shrier cost me my job with his negligence. He was totally unprofessional, lazy and unprepared for my case.

Incompitent

My union retained this lawyer for me in my case against the NYSDOH. For 9 months he did nothing. He did not keep a record of anything he did and did not request any evidence from the doh in my case. He had an attitude of just wait for the hearing. I did all the research for my case,he did nothing at ...all!!!!!!!! By him not doing anything for my case he almost cost me my career and my certification for something I was cleared of in criminal court. He never answered my calls and most likely did not even notify the doh that he was representing me in this case. He has cost me about $25,000 in wages and overtime at my job because of his neglect. I had to take a pension loan to get another attorney for this case. When I called and told him I no longer wanted him to represent me and I would like my file it took him 3 weeks to send me the file,it was all the papers I had sent to him and he stated he had nothing else in my file. This shows me he did nothing for my case!!!!!!!!! I would never recommend him to anyone and I am filing a complaint against him with the OCA and NYS bar association for neglect.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
