Pauline M K Young

I am a senior associate at McLaughlin & Nardi, LLC.  I handle a wide range of matters including litigation, real estate, business formations and transactions, employment law, solid waste transport licensing and regulation, and collections law.  I strive to aid individuals and businesses by providing personalized services to fit the unique needs of each client.

I have experience in all areas of litigation including trials, arbitration, and mediation.  I handle a significant amount of cases in the area of employment law including consulting businesses and representing employees on whistleblower protections such as the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, New Jersey’s Law Against Discrimination, anti-retaliation laws, Woolley claims for breach of employee handbooks, hostile work environment scenarios, sexual harassment, violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and New Jersey’s Wage and Hour Law violations.  

I also represent clients in commercial litigation involving various claims from contract and partnership disputes, to tortious interference and fraud.  I have also handled complex commercial and real estate transactions and have significant experience with drafting and reviewing contracts in various transactional matters, from employment-related contracts to leases and residential real estate matters. 

I have also been involved in assisting several businesses with navigating the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's rules and regulations in relation to solid waste transportation. 

I am admitted to the bars of New Jersey and New York.  I am also admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts of New York and New Jersey and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals where I have handled several appeals.

I previously worked at New Jersey’s Division of Consumer Affairs, New Jersey’s governmental agency which regulates professionals such as lawyers, doctors, and accountants; regulates consumer industries such as home construction and automobile sales; investigates and prosecutes consumer complaints; and regulates securities transactions in New Jersey.  I also previously worked for a large retail collections law firm representing major creditors of consumer debt. 

I am a graduate of the American Inns of Court, Richard J. Hughes Chapter, which conducts graduate-level trial advocacy training for young attorneys run by respected judges and senior practitioners.  I also continues to complete courses on various legal updates and changes in the areas of real estate, commercial litigation, business law, and employment law.
 
I received my juris doctorate from New York Law School.  I received my bachelor's degree in political science and law from Montclair State University, summa cum laude, where I was a member of the Honors Program and graduated a semester early.  I also served as President of Montclair State’s chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, where I organized and chaired numerous academic events. I received the Dean’s Award for contributions to Montclair State’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences and was also a disc jockey at 90.3, WMSC.
