Lauren Walter Kavanagh

Lauren W. Kavanagh previously practiced labor and employment law as an associate with the founding members of the firm. She represented both public and private employers in counseling, arbitration, and litigation, as well as individual plaintiffs in employment negotiations and disputes. Prior to joining the firm, she served as a law clerk to the Hon. John S. Triarsi, J.S.C. of the New Jersey Superior Court. Ms. Kavanagh graduated from Seton Hall Law School, where she was a research assistant to Professors Charles A. Sullivan and Timothy P. Glynn.

She is a co-author with Charles A. Sullivan on EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION LAW & PRACTICE, 4th Edition (Aspen) and its annual case supplement. She previously contributed to the 2005 Supplement to CASES AND MATERIALS ON EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION (Aspen 6th ed), as well as updating WHITE ON NEW YORK CORPORATIONS vols.. 3-5 (Matthew Bender 13th and 14th eds., 2005). Ms. Kavanagh also contributed to Professor Sullivan’s chapter, The Gilmerization of Antidiscrimination Law in EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION STORIES. (Friedman, ed. 2006).

Ms. Kavanagh earned her B.A. degree from Washington & Lee University, where she majored in History. She has also served as an independent consultant on ethics and employment workplace issues. She is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Virginia.
