My name is Nichole A. Collins and I have been in private practice since 2010. My practice is focused exclusively on family law and criminal defense. Over the years I have litigated hundreds of cases, including but not limited to: Divorce, Custody, Relocation, Grandparents Rights, Dependency, Adoption, Child Support, Spousal Support, Alimony Pendente Lite, Alimony, Protection from Abuse, DUI, Assault, Rape and related sex offenses, Drug Offenses, PCRA matters, as well as Superior Court Appeals.
I attended collage at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and graduated summa cum laude (with highest honors) in 2005. I have a B.S. in psychology, a Criminal Justice Minor, and a pre-law emphasis. I am a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. I began law school in 2006 at Widener University School of Law, and graduated in 2009. During law school I was a member of VITA (the volunteer income tax assistance program). I also participated in the Widener Civil Law Clinic.
Following law school graduation I did an externship at the Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, Counsel Division. The BPOA regulates the 29 professional and occupational licensing boards. I worked primarily with the following boards: Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Psychology, and Real Estate. My primary responsibility was to draft recommendations to the board regarding whether or not disciplinary action should be taken against a licensee.
Next, I accepted a job as Legislative Counsel for State Senator Anthony Williams. My responsibilities included: Drafting and Promoting Legislation, Attending Committee Meetings, Briefing the Senator on Proposed Legislation, Meeting with Lobbyists, Giving Speeches on the Senator's behalf, and more. I loved my job with the Senate, but I wanted a career where I could actually make a difference by advocating for people on an individual level.
The percentage of my practice devoted to litigation is probably around 60%.
I am admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, and the Federal United States District Court. I am a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Dauphin County Bar Association. I was recently honored to be named a Top 100 Lawyer by the Nationial Trial Lawyers organization.
