Melissa B Zemsky

My experience with Melissa Zemsky was abysmal and had an extremely negative impact on my divorce negotiations. She told me initially how easy my case was. She spoke negatively of my husband's attorney. She told me how well known her firm is. Then, she got into a high school level argument with my hus...band's attorney over absolutely nothing related to my case which only antagonized. She went dark for long periods of time. She was difficult to get time with. I was always unclear on where we were, what was happening, what should come next. She shared details of other cases with me to let me know how "lucky" I was. She was condescending and dismissive when asked and made me feel like this would wrap up quickly. Well, 7 months later I am still in litigation, however with a new attorney who is a professional and taking my case seriously. Melissa and the firm are highly disorganized and negligent. She received an MSA from my husband's attorney and lost it. She said "lost in a stack of papers." When it was uncovered, she did not immediately address it and apologize. She casually sent it to me in email while I was on the phone with her. When I saw the date and asked absolutely horrified, "Wait, you have had this for over a month?" She sort of apologized. In the gap of that month, she allowed me to waste time and money due to her error crafting a response to an earlier document that had since been revoked by my husband. She lost an MSA that was critically important to my case and its progression. She also claims to never have received a letter from my husband's attorney that was sent to her 2 days after we sent our response to his revoked offer. I have a copy of that letter now. I'm not sure in any way how it's possible she did not receive it. In fact it's not possible. She either lost that too, or saw it and didn't share with me to cover her first lost MSA. It blows my mind. Melissa's negligence led to significant frustration on my husband's side and put me very much on the defense. She is unprofessional, irresponsible, and extremely difficult to work with.

Melissa brought my case to a quick conclusion. My case was lingering in Union County; Melissa came in, got me the results I needed let allowed me to finally move on with my life. I learned to love Melissa not only as a professional but also as a great human being that showed me how to be a stronger, more independent woman. I highly highly recommend Melissa to anyone that going through a divorce because I know how hard it could be.

I liked Melissa as soon as I met her. She was direct, down to earth, intelligent, confident and strong. I knew she would have my back and she did through the end. She stood up to my husband and his attorney when they tried to put me down and she shut them both down in an aggressive but professiona...l manner. She was direct with me and explained everything. When I needed help with, she took the additional time, without billing me, to explain things. She would call me off hours to see how me and my children were doing. She truly cared. She also discounted my bill and worked with me financially. I plan on staying in touch with you and maintaining a relationship with Melissa forever. I don’t know if everyone can say that about their divorce attorney. She was the best thing that came out of a miserable situation. She advocated and fought for me and always had my back. I was confident with her on my side.
