Great to work with and great result

Mark did a fantastic job with my case. I had already been working on it pro se for a couple of years when defendant commenced an article 78 proceeding and tried to stop my efforts to enforce the judgment. Mark helped me prepare my affidavit in opposition and represented me for the oral arguments be...fore the court and negotiating with the opposition. We defended against the oppositions baseless claims and ended up getting them to pay the full judgment amount. Through the entire process he was straightforward, knowledgeable and easy to work with. I would recommend him without reservations to anyone looking for an attorney to resolve a landlord tenant issue or civil court proceedings related to those issues.

highly competent, straightforward & strategically savvy; got results

Hired MG to replace a well-known tenant lawyer who refused to settle my case a YEAR after a judge had ordered my landlord to either correct the violations or settle. (I had two apartments for over a year!) He negotiated a settlement in my favor and had me moved within three weeks. Additionally, h...e found my previous lawyer's behavior to be unethical and, with my permission, brought the matter to the NY Bar Assn for arbitration. It was a process, but the committee immediately awarded me 50% of my fees and also stated it dealt only with fee disputes, not malpractice. We opted not to pursue further. I found MG to be unfazed by the messiness of my situation and undeterred by my prior lawyer's reputation (I'd been rejected by three others because they didn't want to cross him). He was very fast, thorough, competent and kept the big picture and goal in mind at all times. Had a sense of justice and fairness which fueled a highly strategic savvy. What a difference: he kept me informed at all times, his fees were transparent and fair, and he got it done. Twice. Amazing memory. Wish I'd come across him before, but he obviously doesn't spend his time on self-promotion.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
