Maggie has had a long and esteemed career in public service. Earlier in her career, a judge noted that "Ms. Malloy produced work of a caliber that far surpassed her years of experience." Maggie has continued to maintain the same excellence in her profession, and has since been recognized by the New York Law Journal for demonstrating leadership in public service and devoting herself to improving the legal system and profession in New York.
Maggie began her career clerking for the Honorable Denise Cote in federal district court in the Southern District of New York. She then joined the law firm Gladstein, Reif, & Meginniss as an associate, where she practiced labor and employment law for over six years. She litigated cases involving a worker’s right to be free from retaliation for filing workers’ compensation claims, establishing tests for joint employment under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and representing class action clients who were victims of age-discrimination. Maggie then worked at the EEOC as a trial attorney for over five years. There, she was the lead attorney on a number of complex cases, including a nationwide case seeking relief on behalf of over 25,000 women. Maggie then served as Chief Counsel for Pro Se Litigation in district court in the Southern District of New York, where she helped to ensure that litigants without lawyers had equal access to justice.
Maggie holds a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University, a Master of Arts from the University of Minnesota, and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School, where she was a member of the Columbia Law Review, a James Kent Scholar, Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and a recipient of the Jane Marks Murphy Prize.

"Maggie is likely the best lawyer in my age group that I have ever worked with in my 31 years of practice as an employment attorney. Her writing is terrific, her understanding of research issues is perhaps the best of any lawyer I know, and she also has wonderful instincts as to litigation strategy and an overall sense of how to most effectively more a case ahead and keep an adversary on the defensive. Much of that is also because she has an amazing work ethic. In addition, Maggie has wonderful organizational skills, and I've seen her organize class actions and manage different competing aspects and juggle priorities. Maggie has excellent skills in working with staff in a very friendly manner and building camaraderie within a group. Maggie contributes in another important area. Maggie has superior knowledge of technology and information issues than anyone I know, and teaches in this area. She is also incredibly kind and compassionate w. clients."
