I hired Linda due to the time crunch that I was in and needed representation pretty quick. Big mistake. Paid the retainers fee and received delayed responses on many of my inquiries. When feedback was provided, it was often vague which led to more questions from me which ultimately led to the depleti...ons of my retainer fees pretty rapidly. The calculations for estimating how much time was spent replying to emails, speaking on the phone and making copies were ridiculous. She did a poor job negotiating with the other attorney which ultimately led to me accepting a poor settlement due to the fact that I wasn't financially capable of sustaining further negotiations. If time permits, please look around more before hiring her.

I had a simple paternal termination of rights. Father had never met child. I had to call every week for 6 months to get the father served papers... IN PRISON. It wasn't hard to find him! We're 2 years in and 100's of unreturned calls, I've retained a new lawyer. Linda moved out of her office over ni...ght. She sends one email to all her clients claiming illness (understandable), but that she is well now and back on our cases! I had a meeting that day to retain a new lawyer, but as I'd already retained Linda I stuck with her. another 2 months go by and 3 days before the court date (which I had to ask the amicus to set) I had to retain a new lawyer at 2x the price on such short notice. Now, the father is about to be released from prison and this case is still not done. Linda ran off with the remaining $900 of my $2500 (paid same day as consult) I hope she has trouble sleeping at night! The amount of emotional strain and anxiety she has cause is immeasurable. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.

It is not often I write reviews, however this business exceeded my expectations for poor service. We contacted The Hoak Law Offices for legal services for estate planning. We met with them on March9th, and signed the agreement and paid the $1200 fees for two basic wills, two powers of attorneys, tw...o powers of medical attorneys, and two Directive to Physicians documents. We were told the check would be held in trust until the documents were completed. However, it was cashed within two days. These are all boiler plate documents, and didn’t think it take very long. After two weeks, we contacted them, left a message on the voice mail because no one answered the phone. They responded that Ms. Hoak was in court all week and they would get to it as soon as possible. About a week later I again inquired as to progress. On April 17th we received some drafts . I made a couple of changes (very minor) and sent them on Monday April 18th. No response until Thursday the 23rd, then indicated they were working on the changes and we would receive revised copies once they were completed. I responded asking if we could complete and finalize this week. Again the response was Ms Hoak was in mediation and court this week, and she (the legal assistant) was working on this as fast as possible. The changes were so minor, she probably spent more time in writing the email, than the changes would have taken her. Finally on April 30th we got a call and follow-up email, (the most communications ever received) indicating the changes had been made and we were scheduled for signing on May 4th. On May 4th the signing was again delayed from 2:30PM scheduled to 3:30PM, I think the reason this time was court, again. At signing, Ms. Hoak remembered she had left her notary seal in her other car, and had to delay to go home to get her notary seal. WOW! Finally at 5:00 PM we finished this very what should have been a very simple process. I believe this is the most disorganized office that has no concept of good customer service. I will never return to the Law Offices of Linda Hoak.

After dragging my divorced case out more than a year and never trying to get mediation for me I retained a new lawyer. When I retained a new lawyer I picked up my file and they told me they mailed me my refund for my trust. Well more than a year later now and I have even went to the office a coupl...e of months ago and signed the paperwork again to release my trust. Well here we are still waiting fir my money back and surprise, no money yet! I have called and left several messages and can never get a human to answer! Integrity?

I hired Linda Hoak for a case which she never worked on! After 5 months of cancelled meeting and not filing anything on my case I fired Ms. Hoak and requested a refund of my retainer. Months and months went by and every time I contacted her office via phone call or email I was given the run around ab...out my refund and when it would be returned to me. Finally I was told to resubmitt my request for a refund of my trust and that they would have it to me with in 30 days! And it's no surprise 30 days came and went and I still have not received my retainer refund! We are going on a year of me simply wanting money returned to me for a service Ms. Hoak was paid to do and she never completed! She did not work on my case, never filed anything on my behalf, and cancelled multiple meetings now she refuses to return my money to me. This has been the WORST experience I have ever had. It should be illegal for an attorney to take a retainer for a from clients and refuse to return it to them once they have been fired, especially when they have not filed anything on the case. I hope no one ever has to experience this from someone that was hired to help you and protect you.
