When I was contacted by a debt collector about almost $50,000 in defaulted private student loans held by National Collegiate Trust, I knew their reputation and it was only a matter of time before they sued. I've read horror stories online from people trying to take these on by themselves. I contacted... Laurie and she was very helpful explaining my options going forward. After hiring Laurie, she helped me settle for pennies on the dollar and identified and squashed the few "gotchas" the debt collection agency set. These companies don't want you to fight back. When I phoned Horizons, I was seeking coaching for a small claims case. Ms. Bigsby answered my call...after a few minutes she considered taking my case on contingency. I'm still not sure why because I have not heard anything positive from this "attorney". I presented her with information that was t...o be reviewed, it never was. After 3 months of weak demand letters (already done, i was ready to file suit) without proper research or my review...we will be parting ways. Could have done better myself and now I'm nearly at the statute of limitations so a big THANKS FOR NOTHING!!!

We consulted telephonically with this attorney and received a friendly reception. When we appeared at our appointment, we were treated with disdain. We were there to pay $300 to have her assist us with the remaining items left in the house, since we were evicted without notice by the Sheriff. We... would have appreciated a courtesy call to let us know that she did not intend to assist us, rather than having us go to her office to be subjected to the negative treatment we received on May 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
