Excellence in the practice of law

My wife and I first met Laura Sammons at the VA clinic in Albuquerque, NM, in November, 2011, while waiting for doctors appointments. During the conversation we found out that Laura was a practicing attorney in Clovis, NM, and had much experience dealing with the VA. She gave us her card and told u...s if there was anything she could ever do to help us to please give her a call. Three weeks later I received a denial of claim letter from the VA with very little information as to why I had been denied and so quickly. I called Laura and told her what was going on and she, like me, was surprised at the denial. She said she would be glad to help me appeal this decision. On New Year's Day, 2012, Laura drove for 4 hours from her home in Clovis, NM, to my home in Carlsbad, NM, to meet with my wife and I and take our statements pertaining to all the interactions we had had with the VA up until that time, which took another few hours of her time, and then she had the drive back home. Laura filed the appeal with the VA for us. She was very conscientious and readily accessible to us at any time of day. She was never too busy to answer any questions we had or give advice when asked. Throughout the appeal process, Laura kept us informed of any information she received -- she was with us every step of the way. The appeal was finally granted in 2013, thanks to Laura's fine work. She never gave up on us or the process. She is, from personal experience, the finest lawyer I have ever met and I would recommend her to anyone, anytime, anywhere.
