Go Elsewhere for Family Law

I hired Mrs. Sitton/Matthews to help me with my divorce. I have 3 small children so I can only attest to how she handled my family law case. I had given Mrs. Matthews plenty of evidence to use to prove that my ex-husband was in fact working when he said otherwise while he represented himself at court.... 90% of that was not used and there were no objections to some pretty outrageous claims made by my ex-husband including he could not work because he was disabled. He was never asked to prove that in any way. My ex was allowed to say very damaging, untrue things about me that were also never objected to. I was told to not respond. I was not awarded back child support, which was never even brought up by my attorney at court but was in my final paperwork. My ex had not paid me anything in 2 years prior to our court date for our 3 children. No attorney’s fees were awarded either. My ex moved 2 hours away from me and told me the day he moved with no prior notice. We did an emergency court order. He was not held accountable for doing this in any way. Our children are only able to see him 3 weekends per month now because of this. In my final court paperwork, it said that now I have to pay 60% of his travel fees to deliver my children. This was never brought up on our court date but was in my final court ruling paperwork. The icing on the cake was when Kristina asked me to leave her a review via text, sent me the link to do so and said, “Would appreciate it very much. Just got a completely bogus review from a crazy client and trying to bury it if possible… I decided to refund your fees as a courtesy. Hope you don’t mind.” I’m not sure why that was requested given the outcome of my case but no check was ever sent either. Unfortunately, the other bad review on here sounded very similar to my situation. I wish I had seen it earlier but at least I can leave my review and hopefully save some other family the trouble. In the end I was awarded a minimal amount for 3 children under 10 that doesn’t even cover the monthly childcare costs for my youngest child who is going to preschool part time. I would suggest you go elsewhere for a family law attorney that will fight for your case.

Awesome Attorney

I was struggling with my family court case for a couple years before hiring Kristina, and my only regret is not contacting her sooner. From the time she took over my mess of a situation, she was very upfront and honest about what I could and should expect and it was very comforting. All motions wer...e explained to me, filed in a timely fashion, and eventually very effective. Kristina provided my children and I the closure we desperately needed and I will be forever grateful. I would recommend any of my family or friends to her without hesitation.

A 100% Delict Attorney

My children's father hired this attorney to represent him in our family court case. She has never been to the family court for our case yet managed to be the attorney listed (old high school and college buddies- almost like all these reviews that say 5 stars) for over 3 years. He would constantly thr...eaten me and always included the use of his lawyer in his unwarranted threats. I'm still looking into having formal charges brought up against both of them for possible misconduct. Don't let this attorney fool you! If you're looking for an attorney who sticks with their scope and has perfected their craft to be able to represent you respectfully in court without childish behaviors involved on the lawyers' end, go elsewhere, She isn't concerned about you or your kids; she is just worried about looking bad which is inevitable when you are using the law to hurt others. Justice will prevail, and her day of reckoning will soon come!

Many opposing parties do not like me but the party I represent was ecstatic with the work I did!

Don't waste your time or she will

When I consulted with Mrs Matthew's, the complexity of my case was overly stressed to her and she said she would be aggressive in the matter. Mrs. Matthews was everything but that. She would not be in communication till the last minute and always put it off on the other parties attorney. Whenever I a...sked what the game plan was, she would ask what I wanted to do and nothing ever seemed to get done. The other party repeatedly lied and my attorney never said anything about the lies and false information despite a stack of evidence against it. Had multiple issues that she managed to make worse by interjecting and in the end costed me more. If you burn your money, at least it will provide some warmth, thats more value than paying for her "services".

"I’ve known Kristina for the entirety of her legal career and highly recommend her. As a fellow member of the State Bar, I have no reservations referring clients to her. She is a talented attorney who navigates complex criminal and family law cases passionately and effectively. Many attorneys with brilliant legal minds struggle with efficiency and efficacy. Not Kristina. She is a wicked smart straight shooter who gets the job done - and well. Clients are notoriously pleased with her work and find her relatable, honest and compassionate."

"When I get phone calls asking for a referral to a family law lawyer I recommend Kristina Matthews. I've known her for over a decade and know her to be an accomplished litigator and strong advocate for her clients. The ultimate compliment I can pay her is she is one of the very few people that I would NOT want to go up against in court. I've sent several clients to her and they have all thanked me. That says a lot."
