Hyper-aggressive, but ultimately ineffective

Kelly represented my ex-wife in a separation. I wanted to negotiate and settle out of court, but according to my first attorney, Kelly was very combative and difficult to work with, so I hired a different attorney, hoping to placate her. The second attorney also said she was impossible to work with, ...unwilling to give anything in negotiations and seeming to pick fights at every opportunity. We ended up in court. At trial, one of my witnesses described Kelly as an "ineffective bulldog"- trying to be aggressive and tough, but failing to score points or impress the judge and in stead looking unreasonable and unnecessarily argumentative. She kept focusing on specific allegations and financial details, even after the judge said repeatedly that he had heard enough on these subjects. She had countless Zoom problems that made her look, frankly, incompetent. She made it a point to not agree to almost every small detail or proceeding that would expedite the case, racking up billable hours by prolonging the process, but visibly annoying the judge. When the ruling went against her and my ex, she attempted to re-write the judge's ruling, to no effect. Overall, I am simultaneously happy and annoyed that my ex-wife went with Kelly. Happy because I won the case, and I think Kelly's incompetence contributed to that win. But annoyed because had my ex selected a better attorney that would de-escalate conflict and work collaboratively, we may have avoided at least some of the immense stress, cost, and long-term emotional damage of the trial. A hyper-aggressive attorney is not always best when you will need to co-parent with your ex for many years to come.

Excellent Divorce Attorney

Ms. Wiley was my attorney through a legally, and financially complex divorce that included a trial and extensive post-trial litigation because of my exe's unwillingness to follow court orders. This process was further complicated because my ex rotated between a handful of attorneys and representing h...imself pro se. Kelly constantly reminds me to look at the big picture, and takes the time to explain the pros or cons of filing the various motions we've had to file over the last three years, so that I could understand, and decide when action, and when inaction was the best thing in the long run. This has saved me thousands of dollars in legal fees, and reduced stress from needless arguments. I would definitely recommend Ms. Wiley to any person going through a divorce.

I Proceeded Against Her Pro-Se, By Myself... And won.

She was hired by my now ex-wife. She tried her hardest to paint me as an abusive husband...The judge(s) disagreed with her and denied her motion; She attempted to get a lopsided temporary parenting plan that deviated from an existing parenting plan...The judge(s) disagreed with her and denied her m...otion. Upon showing up to court for a contempt hearing that she initiated she forgot to file our appearance with the court. All parties were sent home and the case was struck from the calendar, costing us all precious time and money. She told the court that I didn't want to mediate, which wasn't true and was subsequently informed of Washington State Law by the court assistant. The mediation took place One year later and now we have the EXACT same parenting plan, the EXACT same terms and conditions, and Zero money for her client. However she did make over $10,000 from our family during this already hard and trying time. As a self-defending, attorney-less father against an (experienced?) attorney in open court for FIVE appearances, i would sum my experience up as being thankful, for I was against her and not another more qualified attorney.
