As a child of divorced parents, Katrina considers herself to have started her career in family law as a young teen and has used her personal experiences to sharpen her legal skills. Family law has been, and continues to be, the sole focus of her practice.
Katrina earned her B.A. In Psychology with a minor in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA, and her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
Katrina officially began exploring her passion during law school, by volunteering with the King County Bar Association Pro Bono services. There she supported unrepresented litigants by walking them through their sensitive divorce and custody procedures, as well as those striving for third-party custody of loved ones. As if that did not fill her cup enough, Katrina was then fortunate to work alongside her first mentor, solo family law practitioner Helene Ellenbogen, which exposed her to complex financial litigation and high-conflict parenting plan issues.
After passing the bar in 2017, Katrina went into private practice and has been representing clients in family law matters in Thurston, Lewis, Grays Harbor, and Mason Counties.
Through her experiences, Katrina learned how overwhelming even the most “simple” process could look to families and has taken this outlook with her while engaging with her current clients. She is especially cognizant of the fact that litigation does not occur in a vacuum; its effects reverberate through every aspect of a client’s life and into their future.

Katrina saved me from the trenches!
Katrina was absolutely amazing. From start to finish of my case she made sure to communicate effectively, respond timely, and helped me understand the process. Before hiring Katrina my case was a mess created by a less than desirable previous attorney. I was afraid there was no hope for my case. ...
Halie, thank you for your feedback! I am so glad that I could help turn your case around, and on top of that, provide you with support along the way. What you went through was not easy and I am honored that you trusted me to help you through it. It was a pleasure working with you and I wish you and your family nothing but the best!

Very Helpful
Being overseas at the time of divorce was an additional complication to an already very difficult time. Although I didn't always want to hear it, Ms. Otto gave me direct, frank legal advice to keep my expectations realistic. Exactly what was needed from MY attorney.
Thank you so much for your candid response. While our position as your attorney is that of a zealous advocate, our work also relies on our experience with the law, part of the reason I hope you sought our services. Unrealistic expectations inherently yield more litigation (and thus attorney's fees) and our firm strives to ensure that your goals, as well as your bank account, are protected. I am very happy to hear that your experience with us was a positive one!
