Prevented Usesless First Time DUI Dramas, Saved Me $3,500 + from Unethical Defense Attorneys

This will be the first time ever I've taken the time to write an online review. Julia was a Godsend and I give her permission to provide my phone number to anyone considering her services so I can tell you more. Short Story: She gave me great advice, explained everything clearly and concisely, pro...actively kept me informed, gave me shortcuts whenever possible and DIDN'T CHARGE ME a CENT! I told her I was happy to pay her, but she refused. I hope I never have to hire her, but if I, or anyone I know needs a criminal defense attorney I will hire her. I've been both providing and using professional services business for 20 years and never had such a positive experience. My story: I was arrested for a first time DUI even though I blew .06 twice the breathalizer. As a first-timer I was completely ignorant about the process. I had some pills in my purse that the CHP thought were illegal, even though the Drug Recognition Expert confirmed they were nothing. CHP arrrested me for DUI - alcohol and drugs, child endangerment because my 14 year old son was in the car and posession of dangerous drugs, which is a felony. I spent the night in jail trying to stay warm and sleep on a concrete floor while sober. Not fun. I spoke to 8 other attorneys before Julia all of whom scared the sh-- out of me. Each of them pressured me to hire them and pay a non-refundable fee before the 10 day DMV request for a hearing date. I heard everything from "don't call the DMV yourself", to "child protective services could get involved", to "stop talking to anyone else", to "you should hire me before they press charges because I can influence the DA", to :this is complicated and defintely could end up in court," to "best case would be reduce felony to misdemeaor" and much more. Finally I spoke to Julia. She said the case was absolutely ridiculous, I don't need an attorney and they will probably drop the case. She checked with the DA to see if charges were filed, clearly explained the way Marin County evaluates these kinds of cases and -- without promising anything -- she immediately put me at ease. She gave me the back door number to the DMV, told me to call and request a hearing myself and told me exactly what to request (meeting far away and in person) just in case I was charged. She gave me a timeframe to expect an answer from the DA and told me to call her in a few days. Before I had a chance to call, she PROACTIVELY followed up with ME!!! Yes, gasp! Charges had not been filed, she just wanted me to know. As soon as she found out the DA didn't charge, SHE CALLED ME again to tell me the news. But wait, there's more. The DMV hearing was still looming and I had no idea how they would call it. She gave me the back door number and instructions to call records department, and I found out my blood was .03% and I blew .06% TWICE! The DMV told me unless it was .08% it would be dropped. Everything was dropped and I am home free. Nuff said.

Thank you Julia Mcilroy!

I want to say a huge Thank You to Julia McIlroy for her outstanding representation! Recently I found myself in a very tough situation. I needed legal help and I needed someone I could trust. I was feeling hopeless as I reached out to several other law offices. They all appeared to be running a “cooki...e cutter” operation at a huge cost. I could not take any chances with my future. I contacted Julia and I knew right away I could trust her. Julia provided outstanding council and got me out of what I thought was an impossible position. On top of her amazing legal skills she was fair when it came to the cost. If you are in a tough spot do not hesitate to contact Julia McIlroy Law. You will get the help you need a cost that is fair! Really though her skills and honesty are priceless in the end. GN, Former Client, San Anselmo

A "real honest/ethical attorney"!

Miss Julia McElroy is not only grounded and knowledgeable but she is one of the most ethical lawyers I have ever encountered. She goes well and beyond her duties as an attorney. She is supportive and compassionate and is able to get the job done in a timely manner. She has not only helped me with a c...ase but she has opened herself up beyond the case. Shes has given me legal advice not pertaining to the case over the years. Miss Julia McElroy is A+ quality. I foresee miss McElroy excelling way beyond her potential as she grows in the legal field. I highly recommend miss McElroy.

Recent DUI Case

Upon choosing a lawyer to defend my DUI case, I sorted all of my options. I spoke with 3 different lawyers before choosing Julia to represent me. From our first conversation and throughout the process, she approached my case with great poise and wisdom. She was always there when I needed to speak, fo...rmally or informally, and guided me through the process making me feel at ease in times of inner struggle. She was someone I knew I could rely on, not only for guidance but also for the most positive outcome of my case. I have no doubts about Julia's abilities as a lawyer and representative, and would recommend her to anyone seeking legal consultation.
