Precision. Passion. Integrity. These words aptly describe Mr. McDowell's practice of law. His priority is finding the best resolution for his clients the most quickly.
Mr. McDowell has extensive knowledge on business/corporate law and employment law. Prior to joining Brown & James, P.C., he represented businesses at all stages from start-up to multinational recognition. He drafted the range of corporate documents for C-Corps, S-Corps, LLCs, and non-profits. He represented the fastest growing pizza chain in the US in employment discrimination defense litigation, the second largest title insurance company in the US in title defect litigation, and one of the largest home mortgage lenders in the US in lender liability defense litigation.
Mr. McDowell continues to represent employers in employment disputes, including discrimination (race, sex, national origin, age, religion, and disability), in Missouri State court and Federal Court throughout the Midwest. He also defends businesses and large corporations in construction disputes, premises liability, and complex commercial litigation from pre-suit through appeal. Mr. McDowell has argued in front of the Missouri Court of Appeals multiple times and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
His book, From Law School to Lawyer was published by the American Bar Association (ABA) in January 2015, and he is currently working on his second book to be published by the ABA.
