I did some research about attorneys that were closer in line with what I thought my case was involved in. John Mansella was one of the many results, and seemed to have great reviews from credible websites.
John found my case, from what I described in my message to him online, to be unusual, but ve...ry interesting. He seemed to be intrigued at the fact that this was not a "black and white" obvious case, and that it would require some research. John had invited my wife and I into his office to get a better understanding of our circumstance in order to determine if we did in fact have a case. We advised John of the prior experience with attorneys dismissing us and advising that we did not have a case. John was very candid in explaining that our case would certainly require a lot of research, and had the chance of not being in most attorneys' best financial interests for that reason. We provided John with all the facts and background of our situation. He explained that there were definitely some areas that he agreed we 'may' have a case, but a lot of grey that would require additional research. I was surprised at John's candidness about explaining and educating us about the laws pertaining to our circumstance. He also advised that it would be unethical for him to become our attorney at this point, as we could spend a lot of money without having our desired outcome at the end. Although this wasn't anything my wife and I weren't aware of, we were surprised that he was so candid and cautious to not put us in further financial burden. John had advised that he would need to do some additional research about our case before he could take us on as clients--although, we were willing to sign and give him a check at this point based on how genuine he was being.
As a result of John's research, he had educated my wife and I with enough about the laws/regulations/etc. that I felt I could be an attorney--we were and are so impressed by how much knowledge he shared with us (despite most of it being way over our heads). Essentially, John had uncovered that not only was there a case, but would take it on contingency. Meaning, we wouldn't pay him by the hour as most of the deceiving attorneys wanted. He would only take the conventional attorney's cut from our settlement. Over the next several months, John remained in continuous contact--I mean continuous! I even had to double-check and ask him if I was being billed for his time, b/c he spent a lot of time going out of his way to discuss my case and answer my LONG list of questions. Each of my questions were addressed with a verbal essay-length answer--they were quite detailed and meticulous. My wife and I were relieved at this point knowing that if John was unsuccessful, that nothing else could be done. John was very good in making sure we were aware of the possibility that after everything, we could end up not having a positive outcome-that our case was very unique in this nature.
My wife and I were burdened by a derogatory impact to our credit, which could not have come at a worse time since we were looking to purchase our first home. The sole intent my wife and I had was to have this mark removed, and our credit absolved in order to get financing. Not only was John successful in having the derogatory mark removed, he was able to get us quite the monetary compensation!!! My wife and I had very little hope after our poor experiences seeking legal advice about our situation. John truly came through on his white horse from beginning to end. He treated us as if we were celebrities that were dumping buckets of money on his lap. It is VERY rare to come across an individual that is this knowledgeable, genuine AND an attorney. My wife and I are still in disbelief at how close we came to giving up on our case prior to contacting John. I am writing this review from our HOUSE, that we would not have been able to get, had it not been for John. We are forever great full to you, John. You're the best!
