Former Kansas City bankruptcy attorney Christian Nafziger grew up in a rural community near Peoria, Illinois. He graduated from Illini Bluffs High School where he acted in several school plays, lettered in soccer and baseball, and made the all-Peoria County Scholastic Bowl team. Christian next attended the University of Notre Dame and lived in Stanford Hall. At ND, he played trumpet in the Marching Band, spent his sophomore year studying in Ireland, and attended many, many football games. After graduating in 1998, Christian was commissioned into the Army where he served for almost ten years with Field Artillery units in Germany; Kosovo; Fort Sill, Oklahoma; Iraq; and Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Christian received an Honorable Discharge in 2010.
After leaving the service, Christian attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School. While in school, he was selected to be a legal writing Teaching Assistant and Editor-in-Chief of the UMKC Law Review. In addition, Christian’s article, Pulling an Old Dusty Weapon out of the Drawer: The Return of Morality Police Powers to Regulate Unwanted Home-Based Businesses, was selected for publication in the Fall 2012 issue. He graduated cum laude in 2013.
Christian worked at The Sader Law Firm from 2013 to 2015 where he focused his practice on bankruptcy, commercial real estate, and commercial litigation.
