Plaintiff was walking with her 4 year-old son to the bathroom of the Defendant restaurant after ordering lunch. Plaintiff slipped on a brown sticky substance on the floor. She never saw it before th ... e fall. Plaintiff fell straight back, her head did not strike the floor. Right after the fall, a worker came out from the kitchen, looked stunned and went for the manager who scolded the worker in Korean in front of Plaintiff. A cautionary wet floor sign was immediately brought out. Plaintiff was very shaken up. Plaintiff went directly to Community Memorial Hospital from the restaurant, driven by her husband. Plaintiff experienced immediate pain to her neck and back. Plaintiff suffered serious injury requiring surgery.
