To my client who provided this review, I am concerned that you feel the way you do about your experience with me as your attorney. After seeing your comments, I reached out to you to continue the discussion, to see if we could continue to work together, but did not hear back. I would still love to talk with you as I know that I can help you with your case, we were off to a good start and had strategies in place to move forward. Divorce can be an extremely difficult, stressful time and it is easy to feel overwhelmed and frustrated. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, I strive to provide excellent service and consistent, high quality legal representation. Each individual client and their case is important to me. My law practice is structured to provide very personal service at reasonable fees. To do that, I work from my home and meet with clients where it is convenient for them, sometimes that is a public place, however this has not been a concern for clients as I do have the utmost respect for their confidentiality and they know about the arrangement at the outset of working together. While I do respect your concerns, and I understand the fears and insecurities that can arise from court proceedings in a divorce, I disagree with your take on the situation. The facts you state simply are not accurate. For instance, you did in fact have knowledge of the court date. You were present in court when it was set, you signed an Order to Appear on the court date, and you and I spoke of the next court date numerous times during telephone conversations we had about your case. We were eager to get into court to go after court orders and things you wanted to achieve, so we spoke of it often. Therefore, it was a revelation to me when you told me two days before the court date that you didn't know we had it. You raise the concern as far as additional fees. I did quote you a total fee for the work on your divorce, and we had a written fee agreement for the divorce. However, my representation grew to include an eviction and a restraining order hearing, and I charged additional fees for the additional work. We had discussed the fact that additional work beyond our original fee agreement would result in additional fees. As your case was proceeding, new issues arose and we agreed that shelter and stability for the long term were important goals that could be achieved by the additional actions. Again, I'd be happy to discuss your concerns with you so that I can address them directly.

Divorce

Well before a decision was given, I knew from the interactions between lawyers and judge that I had made a great choice to work with Geraldine Johnson and my trust and respect in her were well placed. She is experienced, very organized and easy to work with. She and I were quickly on the same pag...e and it was easy to trust and value her leadership. From my first meeting with Geri I understood how she operates and how the legal process would likely unfold and what to expect. She provided a list of specific things I needed to address, outlined a plan to meet face-to face for preparation, encouraged me to reach out to her whenever I needed to and gave me her fees that did not change. I know I was lucky to have had Geri on my side.

Divorce

I felt lucky to have found Geraldine, she handled my divorce with excellent service, promptly returning calls, texts, and emails. She kept me focused on what I needed to do, constantly kept me aware of what was going on, and advised me of potential future "surprises" that can happen in court on the ...day of divorce. In court, she was a gem, I was frazzled by what was going on around me, and she kept me in focus by indicating what was fair or not. Her rate was more that fair, based upon consultation with friends going through what I did. Lastly, while her knowledge and skills were key to my divorce, she is also a great listener, I have the notion that she loves her occupation, helping people.

Best Lawyer I ever had and I've had 4 other lawyers

Attorney Johnson helped me with a case of discrimination against me at my work. She was fast, efficient and even came to me when I couldn't leave my home. She was honest, up front with me and kept me in the loop on all the details. She picked up where other attorneys left off and gathered everything ...needed to help me with my case. I was very pleased and impressed with her professionalism.

My Will and Power of Attorney

I needed a Will and Power of Attorney for medical and financial affairs. Geraldine helped me get my affairs in order. So now I have peace of mind that I have a Will and that my financial affairs and my medical treatment will be handled according to my wishes. She was very pleasant, easy to work with ...and helped me get everything down. She even helped me with things I had not even thought of . I would definitely refer friends to her for their legal needs.
