I purchased my first property in 2008 and received first-time homebuyers assistance from the City of San Jose. Upon purchasing my second property, I wanted to rent my first property; however, the City of San Jose Housing Department insisted I could not rent my property and instead, I was instructed t...o either sell it or move back in as a primary residence. Both of these options were not to my liking and per the City's Affordability Restrictions Agreement, I could pay off the loans plus equity share and interest. Initially the City refused to let me pay off my own loans and would not give me the time of day, so I hired Gabriel to help me deal with the City. It took a year and numerous emails and calls with the entire Housing Department and their attorney to finally pay off my City loans and remove the affordability restrictions. Gabriel also ensured all reconveyance documents were properly recorded and further obtained the related notices. He made sure every step during the reconveyance process was done correctly so I wouldn't have any issues going forward. The City initially would not take me seriously, but with Gabriel's professionalism, persistence and expertise, the City finally allowed me to pay off my loans and now I have control over my property.
