Becoming an attorney was one of the biggest accomplishments for Attorney Eboney R. Hughes. She knew from the time she was a young adult that being an attorney is what she wanted to do with her life. She also knew that personal injury was the area in which she wanted to practice because of her natural connection she easily made with people and her desire to help others in need.
A native Detroiter, Eboney currently resides in Wixom. Eboney received her undergraduate degree from Detroit’s Wayne State University and her juris doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. While in law school she made the Dean’s List, was the winning recipient of the Thomas M. Cooley Leadership Scholarship, President of the Black Law Student Association (BLSA) and President of the Cooley Democrats.
After graduating from law school, Eboney started her career as an attorney at the Law Offices of Carl L. Collins III. At Goodman Acker, Eboney is a welcomed addition to the firm’s Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Team, where she is responsible for processing PIP claims and assisting with personal injury litigation files, including motor vehicle accidents claims.
When clients tell Eboney that they feel that she truly cares about their case she gleans maximum satisfaction. This is because helping clients obtain the justice they deserve is a true sense of pride for Eboney.
Eboney belongs to a number of professional organizations, including the Michigan Association for Justice, formerly known as the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, a non-profit organization of approximately 1,600 members dedicated to furthering civil justice and access to the courts for the people of the State of Michigan.
She is also a member of the Wolverine Bar Association (WBA), the first African American bar association in Michigan that is dedicated to sponsoring programs that raise money for the distribution of scholarships to deserving students, hosting programs that educate and instruct students on the fundamental skills needed for a legal career, and sponsoring community outreach programs.
She truly enjoys being a part of those organizations and one day has a dream to start her own non-profit organization that helps African Americans financially on all levels, including helping children and young adults learn how to manage money and prepare for the future.
Outside of community involvement, Eboney enjoys spending time with her family, reading, traveling, and listening to music, with an array of genre liking. She has also written articles for several printed publications, including her most recent published article in the suburban editions of the Observer & Eccentric Newspapers on the topic of Black History Month.

Outstanding Results!
Attorney Eboney Hughes, was a beacon of hope to me at a time when my options appeared limited. The likelihood of being compensated for my injuries seemed unforeseeable.
