I have been handling labor and employment cases for 25 years. For the last ten years I have been handling only failure to pay overtime cases under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
I graduated from UT in Austin in 1989, with a BA in English and a minor in journalism. I graduated in the top 15% of my class at South Texas College of Law in 1993, where I was an Assistant Editor on the South Texas Law Review.
I currently live in Austin, Texas with my wife, young son and dog.

"I've worked with Doug on several occasions over the past 15 years. I enjoy working with him because he is always timely, responsive, and trustworthy. On top of that, Doug is a straight shooter. He says what he means and means what he says. Without question, he's a five-star lawyer."
"Doug Welmaker is an exceptional lawyer, particularly in the area of unpaid overtime. His mastery of this area of the law and his many years of experience benefit those clients who are fortunate enough to receive his representation. I strongly endorse Mr. Welmaker."
