Douglas M. Fyfe

We hired Mr. Fyfe to help with judge McGinnis for violation of civil and property rights. He wanted a large retainer which he blew through within the first week then wanted another 2000.00. He shows up at court and tells the court hes not ready. The next court hearing he sat there and didn't say much.... Got the feeling there was bad blood between Fyfe and McGinnis which did not help our case. He will keep asking for more money. We fired him and he immediately filed a motion for a judgement against me.

DO NOT HIRE HIM!!! He doesn't even deserve a star!! I used him in the past (for a very quick family court issue) & at that time I was impressed at how quickly it was handled. Due to that great experience, I hired Doug for my divorce. I paid a very expensive retainer fee to secure his services. He mot...ioned the court, served my ex-husband, and a few other things. Therefore, I understand why some of the retainer fee was used for services. However, our initial court hearing was only 20 minutes. Shortly after this initial hearing, I started receiving invoices that my expensive retainer fee had been exhausted. There is NO WAY that could have happened with the lack of work he completed. Fast forward, my ex-husband and I came up with an agreement for the divorce and custody/placement. My attorney stated he will draft a stipulation and send to my ex-husband's attorney. My ex stated that his attorney reviewed it and contacted Doug several times about me signing it. When I confronted Doug about this, he told me he has never heard from the other attorney. Over the course of 6 months, I received 2 phone calls from Doug. He NEVER returned the many messages I left him. In fact, what was supposed to be a final divorce hearing- Doug didn't even bother to show up!!! It was clear he only cared about my money rather than supporting me in this process. He then had the audacity to ask the judge for more time!!! Absolutely unacceptable. I fired him and got a new attorney. DO NOT HIRE DOUG!!!! HE WILL DRAG EVERYTHING OUT- ONLY FOR YOUR MONEY, NOT YOUR BEST INTEREST!!!! I made a huge mistake hiring him & had to hire a new attorney to fix it all. I wish I would have read these review prior.

I paid for the charges right away, never had a payment plan. Filled credit cards to the max in hopes he would be able to provide me with the legal services I expected. First off, good luck getting ahold of him. He will never give you his direct line, and his assistant has a hard time responding as w...ell. Second, he promises you things will go one way and they go the complete opposite. He puts on one hell of a show in front of you, but when it comes time to do his job, he fails. DO NOT SEEK LEGAL HELP FROM THIS MAN. He is money hungry and does the bare minimum.
