Biography
Dean Tanenbaum was raised in Northern Colorado. At age thirteen Dean read To Kill a Mockingbird, and by the end of Chapter 9 had decided he wanted to be a lawyer someday.
Someday did not happen right away. After graduating college, Dean took a two-week trip to Japan which ended up lasting ten years. Along the way he earned a master’s degree in Education, worked nine years as an adjunct professor at Chuo University teaching English to speakers of other languages, and hosted a radio show featuring interviews of other foreigners.
After his ten-year stay in Japan, Dean returned to the United States to attend the University of Gonzaga School of Law. While at Gonzaga, he earned a CALI award as the top student in Legal Research and Writing. After graduating law school in 2012, Dean moved to Nevada with his family to be near his grandmother.
Dean passed the Nevada State Bar in 2013. Since then, he has primarily practiced general law. In the last few years, however, he has narrowed his focus two areas – criminal defense and family law – to help people going through difficult times in their lives.
In his spare time, Dean chauffeurs his two daughters between various after-school activities, clandestinely listens to 90’s rap on his headphones, and occasionally watches Japanese game shows.
