David D. Nielson

Attorney David D. Nielson is in the Fort Lauderdale office of Lugten, Morin & Nielson, LLP providing legal services in the area of Bankruptcy. He believes that clients are entitled to receive personal attention throughout their cases, and strives to provide superior legal services, and each client has his direct number rather than talking through a paralegal.

His bankruptcy practice includes chapters 7 and 13 bankruptcy matters for individuals and small businesses, including pre-petition counseling. He was a contributing author for Aspatore/Thomas Reuters’ Inside the Minds and authored Obtaining A Discharge In a Bankruptcy Case: What You Need to Know. He has lectured at the American Bankruptcy Institute on complex Chapter 13 plans, as well as at various Boston Bar Continuing Legal Education and Massachusetts Continuing Education seminars. He is member of the Bankruptcy Bar Assocation for the District of Southern Florida.

Prior to joining Lugten Morin, he was associated with the business department of Nutter, McClennen and Fish, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, a 200+ attorney firm. He received a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law, a C.S.S. in Administration and Management from Harvard University Extension School, and a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Utah. He intenered under Judge Bruce Selya, US Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit.

He was a panelist at the 2010 American Bankruptcy Association Consumer Bankruptcy Forum regarding modification and treatment of principal residence mortgages in Chapter 13 proceedings; he was a guest panelist in 2005 at Brown University’s Venture Forum. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Florida, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Florida and Massachustts, and is admitted to the Southern Florida and Massacusetts Federal District Courts; and is a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida.
