Calvin H. Scholar - New Rochelle, NY

Mr. Scholar did not return my phone calls; on top of his representation fee he charged $1500 for a copy of my file, which he never said would be an additional fee. Argumentative with me, did not visit me while I was incarcerated, did not show up in court (his excuse was he has a lot of cases and he ...forgot) did not communicate with my family the times he would be in court, they spent the entire morning waiting for him and he showed up after lunch. There is so much more I can say – but I will end with STAY AWAY from Mr. Scholar.

Calvin Scholar

Mr. Scholar appeared quite knowledgeable and said all the right things. The only thing I asked of him when we met and before we signed his contract was that he would be honest with me. As my son's case went on he became less and less reponsive to my inquiries. By the end if the case he was very nast...y, did not want me nor my husband to ask him any questions. By this timely husband and realized how incompetent he really is and not much experience so we did not risk our son going to trial with Mr. Scholar. We tried to hire another attorney but it was too late. Our son ended up taking a plea of "according" to Mr. Scholar 5 years in jail and five year on post supervision release. As it turns out Mr.Scholar lied or really showed how incompetent he really is because my son is serving 10 years in and 5 year post supervision release. What a big mistake our attorney made. I never wanted or expected Calvin to change anything about my son's case. I just ask that he be honest and that was difficult for him.
