Joseph Donnelly IV

I am a trial attorney at Edelman, Krasin & Jaye, PLLC, handling personal injury and employment discrimination matters.

I started my legal career as an Assistant District Attorney at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office, advancing to a felony trial bureau, where I prosecuted a variety of violent and non-violent crimes, including robberies, burglaries, assaults, and attempted murders, and tried numerous cases to verdict.

Following my tenure at the DA’s office, I was a trial associate at a prominent personal injury law firm, and then a founding partner of Donnelly Stehn, LLP, a boutique trial firm, where I represented accident victims and victims of discrimination from intake through resolution in both state and federal courts. I tried numerous cases in the Supreme Courts in New York City and Long Island, securing jury verdicts in excess of two million dollars.

I was accepted to St. John’s University of Law with an academic merit scholarship, where I enrolled in the evening division, while working full-time during the day. I graduated with honors, and earned the “Dean’s Award for Excellence,” an honor given to the highest scoring student in each class, in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, New York Criminal Practice, as well as both semesters of the Prosecution Clinic in which I prosecuted misdemeanor cases under the supervision of Assistant District Attorneys in the Domestic Violence Bureau of the Queens County District Attorney’s Office.

Additionally, during my time at St. John’s Law, I was elected as an Executive Articles Editor for the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Sheri S. Roman of the Appellate Division, Second Department.
