Don't Give This Guy a Dime!

Paid several thousand dollars up front for Mr. Morris to handle a family law case, after he promised he would have our first motion filed with the court within just a few days of signing the retainer agreement. Instead, he turned the case over to an assistant who burned through our entire retainer,... racking up "billable hours" on long-winded phone calls, telling us stories from her personal life, when she should have answered our simple questions with a simple email that could have been written in 15 minutes or less. What's more, Mr. Morris not only NEVER filed a single motion with the court on our behalf, he never even informed the court we had representation. It seems to us that Mr. Morris took our retainer under false and fraudulent pretenses. We believe he never intended to do any actual work on our case. After reading some of the other reviews posted here, this seems to be a common theme with him. Shame on you, Brian! Our family - and especially our children - has been victimized by your dishonesty.

Brian C Morris & Pamela S Morris / Squatters in my Home in Port Jefferson, NY

I sold Brian & Pamela Morris my home on High Street in Port Jefferson on 8/2015. I held the mortgage Note for them with a four year balloon. They have been late on their payments since the inception of the loan. They are currently past due over $40,000.00. They signed over a deed in lieu to me but no...w refuse to get out of my house. My wife and my self are extremely upset and stressed with Brian & Pamela Morris because we need the contractual agreement income to survive an pay our bills. Brian & Pamela Morris have scammed us. They are living in my home free and clear and will not pay us or move out so I can resell the house or move back in my house. Brian Morris as a bankruptcy attorney knows how to play the legal game and remain in my house while we all suffer. Why would the law allow a professional attorney to advantage of honest people, I just don't understand. I found out that Brian Morris has played this legal game three times. Screwed to banks and now me and my wife who gave his family an opportunity of a life time. I am sick to my stomach, its a ponzi-Scheme the law should address immediately because he will strike another innocent victim.

Incompetent and Unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brian like everyone else took our money for a Bankruptcy case. The first legal assistant took all my paperwork which was all my personal information such as bank account numbers, social security numbers etc etc.... took time to get everything together only to be told that they cant find it.... this w...ent on... then Christina was gone and there was another legal assistant... again need paperwork..... called several times to talk to Brian...he was never available... always in NY... made appointments for conference call... only to be cancelled cause he had other appointments. We went through 4 assistants and one of them being his wife.. I finally said to her this is getting ridiculous I am tired of sending my information only for it to be lost.... She said she would be handling it ... Again this time brought the paperwork and handed it to them in their hands as there would be no excuse for it getting lost a 3rd time...... Had a court date for the initial hearing. My husband and I had to take days off from work to go to Tampa to court. We get there and he never shows up. His assistant sent in another Lawyer to represent us that day who didn't know us or our case and we were never notified that someone else would be there to represent us. It is our turn and they inform us that the attorney did not send the paperwork in time as it was suppose to be there a week before and they sent it in the morning of the hearing. So our case was dismissed... We were fuming and called the office and gave them a piece of our mind and all she could say "I'm Sorry". I asked to speak with Brian and again in NY and had to make an appointment to set up a conference call. Months go by and we get another court date... I advise the office that they had better have the paperwork there on time as I cant afford to keep taking the days off. We get there and at least the paperwork is there and again no Brian.. Another Lawyer representing us that knows nothing of the case. To make a long story short at the beginning of our initial meeting he had advised us to stop paying out 2nd mortgage as he stated it could be part of the bankruptcy and that in 2 years he could get it wiped out. Well at the end of the bankruptcy before our final appointment at the court Brian informed us that we had to have our home appraised to make sure our home appraised for less than what we owe so that he could make sure that he could get the 2nd mortgage wiped out... well our home appraised for more than what I owed on my mortgage and now he tells me oh well we have to add this amount to the amount you will have to pay monthly to the court which would be over $1,000.00 which we could not afford. I asked him what we should do and he advised us to stop the bankruptcy and that he would work with the bank to get my 2nd mortgage modified. So I agreed... Well once I got the release from the court saying that the bankruptcy was stopped and that they would return all my fees that I had paid I started getting mail from an attorney for the bank. I sent the attorney a letter stating to send all correspondence to Mr. Morris as he would be representing me... All the correspondence that I received showed that they also sent it to Brian so I thought he was handling it. I sent Brian several emails including his assistance email address and not one was answering. I called numerous times and there was always a voice mail stating to leave my name and number and they would get in touch with me within 24 hours.... Nothing no calls again I call and send emails. Finally spoke to someone and of course Brian was not available and was i NY... again set up conference call... he never called me back and they would not give me his number.... now I find out that his license was suspended and I was left struggling with trying to find someone to represent me as the other law firm was getting a judgement against me. Final outcome not able to get a lawyer in time to help me....... BAD LAWYER

Unproffessional, can't get a hold of when you need to.

This lawyer came to me through the Hyatt legal plan, Didn't return phone calls, I showed up to the office for a scheduled meeting on my case and he was at the airport getting on a plane. Finally called me back, but obviously didn't have the paperwork for my case in front of him, and when I asked why... he didn't know things about my case I was told the paperwork had been misplaced. The only time he seemed to have time for me was the initial consultation in which he seemed so intent, then forget about communication after that. Make the drive to Tampa for a decent lawyer on the plan.

Would give no stars if I could

Never returns call, never responds to emails, not aggressive all all, does not apply logic to situations and will call you asking for more money after you have exceeded your retainer with no notice. He tried this with me but thankfully I had an email from him stating that I had not yet exceeded hours... and he would let me know when I did. I spoke to him maybe twice over a 3 month period and never received updates unless I asked multiple times. Now that I have lost my retainer, after Mr. Morris doing minimal work, I have no choice but to represent myself for the remaining duration of my case.
