About Mitchell

Learn Mitchell’s areas of practice.

I helped people navigate some of the hardest moments of their lives: divorce, custody, property and debt division, and more. Little did I know that some of the hardest moments of my life would include losing my parents within four months of each other.

Although we knew what my parents’ wishes were after they passed away, neither of them planned their end-of-life-care or signed something as simple as a HIPAA release or living Will (also known as an advance healthcare directive). As a result, we never knew what their final healthcare wishes were for the time preceding their deaths.

My mom, suffering from terminal brain cancer, was forced to pass away on someone else’s terms. She lay on her deathbed for 12 days without food, hydration, or pain medication. Since there was nothing in writing regarding her last wishes, my sister was able to prevent me from participating in my mother’s end-of-life decision-making process, talking to her physicians, or securing her pain medication.

To this day, a rift exists in my family because of that.  Because of the need to prevent family fueds I changed my practice to Estate Planning, Wills, and Trusts.

Phone Consultation Review
Mr Wyatt gave me sound advice via a phone consultation he agreed to discount due to my extreme financial hardship situation. I deeply appreciated his willingness to speak to me as well as convey to me different areas in my situation that were lacking or in need of change. I deeply appreciated that his spoke to me with a very down to earth manner and made me feel like I was talking to a human being and not a "lawyer."

Representation for mediation and divorce
Mitch and his law partner (Rhonda Butterfield) have provided me expert legal advice and representation from mediation on. I highly recommend either of them to anyone unfortunate enough to be going through a divorce. Divorce is messy enough without having to worry about the legal and court side of the business. Both partners are a pleasure to work with and deliver what they say they will when they say they will. They give advice and a reason why following that advice is the proper course of action - which I found extremely helpful, as I wanted to understand why we were doing certain things in a certain manner. I came to Mitch after being very unhappy with my first attorney. I talked to a friend who was going through a bitter, adversarial divorce and he highly recommended Mitch's firm. I called Mitch and in 15 minutes had more of my questions answered than I had from working with the other attorney for months. I fired the other attorney the next day and hired Mitch. And lastly, divorce isn't cheap. But Mitch and his partner are a bargain in my opinion - I NEVER felt like they extended anything for their benefit - in fact quite the opposite - it was obvious many times they saved me billable hours. Professional, sound legal advice and representation at a fair price - if that is what you are after, you are in the right place with Mitch and Rhonda.

Time well spent!
I only had a 1.5 hour phone consult, but the time was well worth it. If I pursue the action I will retain Mr. Wyatt for sure. He was insightful, and seemed quite well informed in what is a rather complicated case. William hurt
