After first consulting with Dorothea for advice, I hired her to represent me in my divorce case as a military spouse, and I was very pleased with the way she handled my case and with the outcome she achieved for me. Dorothea is very personable, down to earth and easy to talk to. I never had a probl...em contacting her, whether by phone or email. She worked very hard on my case and kept me informed of everything that was happening along the way. My case involved complicated military issues, involving my ex's several different retirements from active duty, the national guard and reserves and also VA disability matters. Dorothea was very familiar with most of the retirements, and for the couple complicated issues that came up in my particular case, where she wasn't as familiar, she consulted with a military retirement expert in Georgia, and through a conference call with this gentleman, we both learned a lot about the details of my ex's military retirement accounts and how the military handles them in divorce cases. I can't imagine a military matter that Dorothea wouldn't be able to handle, especially after handling my case. Dorothea spent many hours and late nights working on my case before trial, and I felt that her billings were very fair. I never felt over-charged; in fact, she gave me a credit for time she spent consulting with the military expert, because she felt that some of the time spent went toward educating herself for my case and for future cases where these issues might come up. I can only speak of my own experience going through a military divorce, but I was very pleased with Dorothea's handling of my case. I would definitely recommend her to others, and I will call her again for any legal matters that may come up in the future.

Great communication and outstanding representation. Kept me informed of all changes and updates with case. The case and representation itself was complicated, being that the divorce was in TN, I currently live in FL and ex-wife had the kids in AK. Ultimately everything worked out. Legal fees did cons...iderably rack up but she did put a lot of time and effort into case over the weeks/months, so nothing that was unexpected. Only issue I had was in court. I realize lawyers have to work with each other frequently and probably have some sort of professional relationship, but there comes a time to take the gloves off and be aggressive. I felt she could have been a little more aggressive, but maybe I’m wrong. She did help me regain custody so it all worked out. She would definitely be my first call if I need legal assistance in the future.

Dorothea represented me several years ago through my divorce, and I got absolutely crushed in the divorce. Most people I've talked to (lawyers included) are shocked at how much I spent on attorney fees with such poor results (as in how much my ex got in the divorce vs what I walked away with). In ...addition, she did not seem to care one way or another about how the divorce proceedings turned out. If you're in the market for a family law attorney, I would highly suggest that you look elsewhere.

I defiantly agree with the previous post. I was not able to continue with my legal matters because I could not afford another large sum of money. I ended up having to settle the matter before even going to trial. The process was months in the making and drained thousands of dollars from my savings an...d retirement. I also did not feel like I hired an attorney that was fighting for me concerning my legal issues. Instead I was subject to someone who accepted every delay proposed to her without consulting with me at all. I would recommend you seek out legal assistance from someone else.
