Look no further! The best Workers Compensation Attorney for L&I injuries

Look no Further! I do not even know how to start or express my sincere Gratitude for this family ran law firm. If your like me you have spent hours/days to try and find someone to hear you out, once you finally get a meeting, you feel hesitant because you feel like most of the other firms are there t...o treat you like a number and another paycheck. Lets put it this way, My L&I Claim Manager said this, Todd and his Law firm is unique among the rest of them and its unheard of for most law firms once they lock you into a contract to be willing to be consistent, as responsive and willing to do what's ethically and morally right for you. I had my workers compensation claim approved quickly with the help of Todd and his family (Law firm) compared to when I was trying to do it on my own it was like pulling teeth. Which don't do it, it really adds insult to injury and the extra stress makes the recovery even harder. I had blown out my lower back on the job but I think the injury doesn't matter as some lawyers say they are experts for your specific injury and others may not be. IMO this is an attempt to convince you to go with them but Todd Doran has the experience and any case relevant to Washington Workers compensation or an L&I claim is relevant to his practice in my opinion because ethics and understanding play a greater weighted roll when your talking about life changing injuries and looking for someone to help you for the long term. I could say more but it would become a book and I wasn't paid to write this, I was represented by Todd Doran and his Law office and truly appreciated what he did for me. I wish his google page was at the top of the list when you search, Workers Compensation lawyers Spokane wa because it would have saved me about a week of calling around and going through the riga-morol of vetting the good, bad and the righteous.

Great Person and honest

So far he's done an excellent job on my case! He answers all of my questions and is always available for our phone appointments. He seems to really care about what's going on with me, which makes me feel comfortable. He always listens to my concerns and tells me the straight truth, not stringing me o...n. My case was not easy and as he said arrived in a large box! I truly thank him for handling my difficult case in a timely manner.

No complaints

So far I've found Mr. Doran and his staff very nice, sympathetic and GREAT LISTENERS. I have a few months to go before my hearing, and it IS up to me to provide them with information to help my case. Mr. Doran was recommended to me by two different Law firms and I'm glad they did. Whether I win or... lose I appreciate them compiling all my files and info into something SSI can ACTUALLY READ. If it was left up to me to do it, well, it just wouldn't get done right or even done at all. Thank you so much for your support and kindness (:

Former Nuclear Worker with an Occupational Illness

My case wasn't the typical L&I on the job injury. I was a nuclear worker with a brain tumor linked to my radiation exposure. I have a degree in nuclear technology and worked in the field of Radiation Safety. One day back in 1992, I woke up and my head hurt. I never suffered from migraines or headache...s so I was very concerned when my "headache" didn't go away. My head throbbed, so badly that I would throw up and couldn't get out of bed. That started a nightmare that lasted almost five years. I was labeled a "drug seeker" early on so my efforts to find out why my head hurt was mistaken for "doctor shopping." All I wanted was a MRI to find out if by some chance a nuclear worker could have a brain tumor. I was married with three kids and all of a sudden I couldn't work. I tried to file a L&I claim but nobody knew what was causing my head to hurt. By now my family was on welfare and our medical insurance would not authorize a MRI. Long story short, in 1997 an emergency room doctor ordered a CT scan after my wife grabbed him by his lab jacket and begged him to find out if I was crazy or could I really have something in my head causing all this pain. Twenty minutes later I walked into an office where he was viewing my films and my wife was crying, I said "you found a brain tumor didn't you?" He replied "yes, I did." Ionizing radiation doesn't cause carpal tunnel syndrome or black lung disease, it causes tumors and cancers. If you Google "radiation induced brain tumors" mine is in the top three which led me to believe that my parasagittal meningioma was more likely then not caused by my exposure to ionizing radiation. I was also overexposed to neutron radiation while working at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation which increased the probability of my tumor being linked to my radiation exposures. I thought that I had a slam dunk case, but as I called every attorney in the phone book, I was told that my case would be too difficult and too expensive to prove. There were so many other workers getting sick that Hanford and other USDOE sites started their own compensation program administered by the USDOL (Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Act). Again, I thought my case would be a slam dunk, NOT! I was turned down. Twice! I didn't know what to do. My wife was working three jobs and all I could get was Social Security Disability. Enter Thomas Doran. After telling my story for the millionth time and expecting the same lame excuses from him, he totally surprised me. He apologized for all the pain and grief that I had been put through and he wanted to get me what I deserved. There was no I win he wins, it was we are going to win. I soon found out what he meant when I met his wife and daughter, who are both very capable, intelligent and compassionate. They always treated me as if I were their most important client. My case was not an easy one: medical records had been destroyed, doctors were reluctant to say that my tumor was caused by radiation and the government was more inclined to deny my case then to approve it. Because my diagnosis was made in 1997, we had to prove that I actually became sick in 1992. Problems arose with my past wages and prior government claim adjudicators had dropped the ball. For them, it was cheaper to pay my family death benefits then to compensate me. Through all this, Team Doran never waivered, never gave up and most importantly, never let me give up! Finally the day came when Tod called me up and said it was over. Team Doran had got me a lump sum settlement and a monthly pension for life. They could set me up with direct deposit, but I like to come in every month just to visit with them. Tod, Barb and Traci did more than just win my case, they gave me back my life. By the way, my wife doesn't have to work three jobs anymore, she went back to school and is a nurse now. Thank you Team Doran!!!

A good man who will work for your rights

Shortly after my on the job injury, I called 'Tod' because I was unsure what the Worker's Compensation system could or would do for me. Tod reassured me of my rights and encouraged me to do the things I needed to do to improve my health. At that time he said I didn't need representation. I called him... a few times over the next few years and he took the time to talk to me. About a year ago I had a bad experience with an IME and felt the Labor and Industries case manager was trying to close my case. I phoned Tod again and he took my case. He has protested denials and gotten them overturned. I think I am like most people and just want a fair deal. But I don't think you can get one without an advocate like Mr. Doran. It seems odd referring to Tod that way because he never puts on airs, but seems like a regular guy. Except when he is kicking my claims manager's butt. I am not real fond of giving up 15 percent of my time loss, but 85 percent of my benefit is worth a lot more than 100 percent of nothing. And if it were left up to L&I that is what I would have. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy by the entire staff in Tod's office. They strike me as good, genuine people and I would recommend them to anyone.
