If your business relies (at least in part) on your innovations, then you need to secure protection on those innovations. This is what I call "The Competitive Edge". That is, you can get an edge on your competition by securing legal protection on your innovations. I can help you to this end. And hopefully my following credentials will convince you that I am the right person for the job.
I am an engineer (Gonzaga University, 1980, highest GPA in the school of engineering that year), and worked for Chevron Corp. as an engineer for 10 years before going to law school. I graduated in the top 10% of my law school class (Loyola Law School, Los Angeles) in 1993. I am a patent attorney registered with the U.S. Patent Office (Reg. No. 36,369, 1992), and am licensed to practice law in California and Washington. I have secured over 300 patents for corporations large and small (including Chevron Corp. and Hewlett-Packard), and specialize in assisting small companies and individuals in securing, and licensing, patents on their inventions. I am an ardent student of history, technology, and current events, and firmly believe that integrating my knowledge of these topics into my law practice allows me to maximize my clients' potential to profit from their innovations. (In short, I learn from the past, and use that knowledge as leverage in the present.) I have drafted and negotiated hundreds of technology agreements, including agreements with universities and the federal government.
In addition to helping you secure protection on (and license) your patents, trademarks and copyrights, I can also assist you in defending against charges of infringement made by others.
In short, I can assist you with all stages of identifying, registering, licensing and defending your innovations. My goal is to maximize the value of your innovations on your behalf.
