I am currently the FY 23 WSBA President. Prior, I am the only attorney in Washington to serve two terms as WSBA Treasurer, and from July 2017 to September 2022, I served as the District 4 Governor, the longest serving WSBA Governor on the Board of Governors. I have six years of dedicated service to WSBA through the Board of Governors, and have served on numerous committees, workgroups, taskforces, councils, and delegations on behalf of the Washington State Bar Association. I am honored to be only the second full time governmentally employed attorney to serve as Washington State Bar President! It is a tremendous honor to get to do so.
I am employed as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney working in the Corporate Counsel Division of the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. I primarly provide civil representation to the County Assessor, Auditor, Treasurer, Director of Financial Services, L.E.A.D. Taskforce, Facilities Director, as well as as serve as the Corporate Attorney for the South East Aging and Long Term Care Council of Governments which I helped to form in 2014. This entity provides very important services to the elderly and clients that need long term assistance. They serve Asotin, Benton, Franklin, Columbia, Garfield, Kittitas, Yakima and Walla Walla Counties.
I previously served as a Law Clerk in Yakima County Superior Court for the Honorable Judge James Hutton, Jim Lust, Michael Schwab, and Robert Hackett from 2004-2007. It was a very invaluable learning experience for me, and I did that as well as worked as a Special Deputy Prosecuting Attorney on various ad valorem property tax matters.
In law school I received a full ride academic scholarship to Gonzaga School of Law. While there, I received 3 CALI awards for the highest grades in various classes (Criminal Procedure, Real Estate Transactions & Environmental Law Dispute Resolution). I graduated Cum Laude from Gonzaga and top 1/3 in my law class.
Since law school, I'm proud to say that I've earned designation by the Washington State Supreme Court since 2005 for providing pro bono legal assistance for at least 200 or more hours of free or reduced rate legal assistance. The access to justice and civil needs of Washington Citizens are a real issue facing our State and taxpayers, and I'm proud to do my part to try to address this through free civil legal assistance and help in preparing forms and/or navigativing the legal system for low and moderate mean financially strapped citizens.
I am an avid Gonzaga Bulldog basketball fan "Go Zags". I also am an avid Seattle Seahawks fan and Sonics fan. (Hopefully Seattle gets an NBA team in the near future.) I am a lifelong Yakima resident, and a proud graduate from A.C. Davis High School and Yakima Valley Community College.

We at the non-profit Yoga Collective of Yakima had such a great experience with Daniel Clark. And great results because of his knowledgeable information and assistance. We were able to confidently negotiate a new lease to our advantage using his guidance. And because we are a non-profit, he provid...

I had a short consultation with Dan. He was very helpful and knowledgeable of my situation. All possible situations were explained to me in detail. I've learned quite a bit in a few minutes of speaking with him. His consultation helped me make a final decision. Thank you!

This attorney was recommended to me by a friend. I had several time sensitive questions that needed answers outside the normal work day. Dan is very professional and prompt when consulted. Knowledgeable in the subject manner and advised in a timely matter to correct the situation at hand. Definitely would consult with Dan again if further matters arised and highly recommend his services.

Dan reviewed a difficult contract, he offered great suggestions, mitigated risk. Outcome was better than expected, with no formal litigation. Dan was professional and prompt in his responses. Would highly recommend!
"I endorse this lawyer. Dan was a colleague in the Yakima County Prosecuting Attorney's office. Dan has a keen intellect and was always striving to grow and develop. While I no longer work or live in the Yakima area, I'm very glad to see that Dan has dedicated his career thus far to public service. The citizens of Yakima County are well-served."
"Dan has done a great job as our district governor reaching out to other attorneys and getting involved in communities outside of Yakima. He is easily accessible, very knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. I endorse this lawyer."
"I endorse this lawyer. I have worked with Dan Clark over the last year through the Washington State Bar Association. He has shown himself at all times to be a person of integrity and extremely insightful. Dan has the great trait of being patient in forming an opinion, wanting to gather the important information, and only then making a decision. When many people rush to snap judgments based on incomplete information, a thoughtful and informed opinion from an attorney is that much more important."
"I endorse this lawyer. Dan and I went to Law School at Gonzaga Law. There I found him to be an excellent student, highly knowledgeable; becoming well-versed in the laws of the State of Washington. Dan was always willing to help other students in a patient and effective manner. He was involved in many volunteer programs within the school and community. I have also known Dan through our combined work as Governors on the Washington State Bar Association Board of Governors. Here he has displayed a keen insight into the complex issues; weighing each proposal with a sound, solid reasoning. Dan not only represents his constituents, he truly cares about them and the work he can do for them. He is a fine attorney and an asset to his profession as well as a loyal representative to the members in his legal community. Dan receives my highest endorsement and I am proud to serve on the Board with him."
"I have been incredibly impressed by Dan's ability to get up to speed on complex issues and figure out the right questions to ask. Dan and I serve together as Governors of the Washington State Bar Association, which is probably one of the most complex and large legal matters any lawyer would ever have to deal with. He is a diligent advocate for his constituents and brings the same work ethic and concise diagnosis skills that I am sure he uses in the practice of law."
