"Doing the right thing" to help people in need has been the driving force for me. I have over 30 years of experience as a criminal prosecutor handing cases from $1,000,000 elder abuse cases and frauds to aggravated murder including championing cases no one else would, because it was - the right thing.
I was the founding chair and repeatedly returned to chair the Vulnerable Adult Task Force. Working together with Adult Protective Services, law enforcement, social service agencies and citizen volunteers we supported seniors, investigated the abuse of seniors and successfully prosecuted their abusers. This has been a rewarding area as so many seniors and people in need lack the voice necessary to stand for their rights.
As a prosecutor, I worked closely with law enforcement, corrections officers, federal agents and the many other men and women protecting our community. Recognizing they dedicate their lives to helping others, I try to help them. Officers are always welcome for assistance for their legal issues, labor issues and other advice. I am on the Legal Defense Funds Panels and accept referrals from the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) and PORAC (Peace Officers Research Association of California).
I am admitted to the Washington and federal bars.
Practice areas
We handle employment and labor matters representing employees across Western Washington. We are representatives for first responder unions and guilds through FOP and PORAC.
12 years, 100 cases
I have spent more than 30 years trying hundreds of cases in court. I've tried cases up to murders, million dollar frauds and many other serious cases.
40 years, 2,000 cases
Successfully tried hundreds of cases ranging from minor offenses up to aggravated murder. My emphasis has been in financial crimes such as frauds as well as controlled substances such as methamphetamine, heroin etc. I am regularly asked to consult with other attorneys and review cases they are handling for legal analysis and practice tips.
12 years, 50 cases
I was the founding chair of the Vulnerable Adult Task Force in Vancouver, Washington. The task force purpose was to bring together experts in elder abuse to collaborate on how to assist the victims, recover stolen money, and prosecute offenders. I successfully prosecuted numerous major elder abuse frauds including trying cases involving thefts of over $1,000,000 from victimized seniors. I have been a recurring speaker in Oregon and Washington and local television on elder abuse.
