Matthew Blum

I was referred to Matthew Blum to finish my divorce after my attorney has a strock. Matt advised me to settle, nearly at any cost, to avoid court or arbitration. Matt recommended I accept an offer that was $25,000 more cost to me that what my previous attorney suggested case law supported. When I to...ld Matt I'd like to offer less he disagreed and recommended I agree to pay more. He said you never know the outcome or cost if you have to go to court or arbitration. Matt seemed very fearful of confrontation and wanted to settle at any cost to me. Matt's fee was $50.00/hour more than my previous attorneys and for it Matt desired to avoid conflict at all cost and simply process paperwork. The first thing the opposing attorney did when he saw Matt took over as my attorney was increase his last offer by $10,000. He seemed to know Matt was a push over. Over all I was very disappointed in all the advise Matt have me. I would never use or recommend him at all.

Gets the job done!

I hired Mr. Blum to proceed on two different QDRO accounts and one was particularly difficult. He was knowledgeable and knew precisely what needed to be done for the QDRO to move forward without it getting rejected in court. I would recommend Mr.Blum and his team as they were professional and helpful... during a stressful process.

Arwood & Blum really cares, gets the job done!

Matt Blum changed my life for the better. I will be grateful to his hard work, dedication, and faith in me as a client, and a human being for the rest of my life. While I can't share the personal details of my case here, I can say that Matt guided me through a truly difficult and messy divorce. He wa...s fair, honest, and direct. No issue or problem was too big. He knew what to do and when to do it. He always thought 10 steps ahead of me and helped me to understand the impact of some of my choices. He helped me understand my own value in this thing and make needed decisions that ultimately have benefited everyone involved, most importantly, my children. He helped me to find my courage and strength during one of the most challenging times of my life. Matt is an attorney that brings exactly what you will need to unravel the many layers, stresses, issues, and deep complexities of your divorce. He knows what he is doing and has a strong track record demonstrating this. Matt is genuine. He is kind, he cares, he listens, he is fair, he gives straight answers and realistic solutions that generate the results you will want. He can write too! Matt can take the details of your case, the evidence, the timelines, the history, the facts, the nuances, and weave documents that sing your truth. Matt is an attorney with top-flight communication skills and high-level understandings between actions and consequences coupled with a mastery of law to deliver your message with integrity, truth, and accuracy in a way that is fair to all sides involved. I feel peaceful and happy with the outcome of my case. I feel blessed and beyond grateful for the chance to move forward knowing that I had an attorney not only untangle me from what seemed an impossible mess but also serve as my advocate in a way that enabled me to finally become my own advocate, to stand up for myself, to face difficult times with grace and strength. I recommend Matt 100 percent. He is a winner. He is a light source in your darkest divorce process hour. You are not alone, and you can trust and will be in good hands with Matt Blum and his entire team at Arwood & Blum.

Failed to follow court order

The Superior Court of Washington ordered Matt Blum to handle a transfer of money for me as part of a divorce proceeding in Washington State. The Final Divorce Order stated that the husband was to be awarded a fixed amount from the wife’s retirement plan. The amount was be transferred via a qualified ...domestic relations order (QDRO). The problem occurred when Mr. Blum failed to follow the court order or consult with me and transferred the monies into a “variable” account, and not a “fixed” account, which lost money at the end of the transaction. When asked to reimburse the aggrieved party for the loss the firm declined citing legal technicalities extraneous to the court order.

Goes above and beyond all expectations

Matt accomplished above and beyond what I thought was possible in my divorce case. If he is your attorney, he will think of everything necessary to represent you in the best way while protecting your best interests. His ability to creatively think of solutions and potential scenerios is brilliant and... what you want on your side. He is dedicated and works very hard for his clients.
