Jonathan was HIRED to obtain a divorce for a friend of mine. He instructed me to co-sign his retainer agreement of $2300 just in case my friend was unable to pay. $18,000 dollars (this was the amount Swartz said my friend or I owed him by that time) later my friend found out that Swartz hadn't even f...iled a DISSOLUTION of MARRIAGE to the Superior Court of Mason County. And we found out that he was working for the defendant too, also, by hearing her ask him why she was paying him money. And he let the defendant totally strip the contents of the home against the court orders. My friend turned him into the Washington State Bar, and Swartz still tried to charge me the amount listed below..... Then of all things he turned me into Grimm Collections of Tumwater to obtain his 'money' for DOING nothing. I had paid him a $2300 retainer to start the case, which I had forgiven. But still tried to charge me an additional $4831.94 dollars. We turned him into Grimm Collections also, and the matter was dropped My friend had to represent himself in court many months later by filing a Nunc Pro Tunc motion with the Mason County Superior Court to legally finalize his divorce. Thank you Commissioner Sauerlander. Who I think could still remember the mess caused by Jonathan Swartz. This was many years ago and I was reminded of this crooked attorney by sorting through my friends paperwork (RIP my dear friend) and came across the correspondence between Swartz. the Bar and my friend. Then it all came back to me. He should have been DISBARRED in 2011. Perhaps he has changed, but watch your wallet closely if you hire him.

I had one meeting with an associate. I was dissatisfied with the responsiveness of the firm so I requested a refund of my initial consultation fee. I was told, via email, by the associate I would receive a refund check. It is now 60 days later and I have not received the refund as promised and the fi...rm is ignoring my requests for the status of the refund check.
