BAD NEWS ALL AROUND!

I recommended Mr. Welt to my mother based on reading reviews. My mother paid $1500+ filing fees, and they met to discuss her paperwork. She was battling health issues at the time as well. IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE TO RETAIN RICHARD J. WELT. In January, Mr. Welt "mis-calendered" the Meeting of Credi...tors and did not show up. He was sorry, he said. My mother meandered through on her own. He then told her to get ready and pack up her 50+ years of household and be ready to move out when foreclosure occurred. My mother went into panic mode, and her hernia "popped" as she overexerted herself and she had to have emergent surgery. Mr. Welt received a phone call from me advising him of my mother's status, and I provided a doctor's note as well. Post surgery, there was a filing of Relief of Stay by the Foreclosing Trustee. Mr. Welt was not responding to it, and did not respond to it; I assisted my mother in responding to it. My mother as well, was unable to attend the hearing due to her recent surgery and trying to recover. Mr. Welt stated he was not retained for representation in this matter beyond the Meeting of Creditors, which, he did not attend. Mr. Welt then contacted my mother via email advising her to withdraw the response she filed, which would have put her in immediate foreclosure and default. In lieu of Mr. Welt, I attended on my mother's behalf after sending the doctor's note and instructions to the Judge presiding over the hearing. My mother then was granted an extension, through no efforts on Mr. Welt's part. The order that was to have been entered by the Trustee's attorney(s) (RCO LEGAL/NORTHWEST TRUSTEE) was not entered prior to the case being discharged. Approximately 28 days later, I discovered this and asked the court clerks about it. Mr. Welt, AGAIN, did not pursue the matter, my mother and I did. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN AND LAW FIRM!

A True Expert in the Bankruptcy Field

Working in the legal field myself I reached out to several peers and colleagues for a trusted Bankruptcy referral. I considered handling my BK myself but after careful consideration I retained Richard Welt on the recommendation of a trusted attorney friend. I was not disappointed. Richard is INCRE...DIBLY knowledgeable and with his years of experience he was able to efficiently and quickly wrap up my case. Richard is very responsive, returning phone calls and emails with very little turn around time. Bankruptcy is a very difficult and sensitive issue but Richard handled my case with professionalism and compassion. He also worked hard in negotiating two very favorable redemption agreements, neither of which I could have reached without his help. All in all I would highly recommend Richard Welt … in fact, I already have!!

Richard Welt is a kind man who made me feel better about my chapter 7 case.

Richard Welt gave me a better impression of lawyers. The word that comes to mind is a real gentleman. He went through my court case and the meetings before I meet the judge. He knows what he's doing when it came to my chapter 7.

Highly competent attorney

I had the opportunity to work with Richard within the last few years -- he is very responsive to clients, both via email and calls. He is extremely knowledgable and experienced in bankruptcies and foreclosures, and at the same time, very compassionate and easy to talk to -- personable and understand...ing. He is affordable yet truly knows his stuff. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an attorney.

Knows his stuff!

I have worked with Richard professionally for several years. We worked closely on many operational projects and he advised our company on compliance, legal, and bankruptcy issues. Richard's years of experience show. During our time working together, he was a leader, an educator, and trusted by client...s, some of which were some of the largest card issuers in the country. I would highly recommend Richard for his knowledge, experience, and overall compassion.
