Jared Ausserer brings over two decades of courtroom experience and a commitment to ensuring accused individuals receive vigorous defense. Raised in Pierce County, he attended Seattle University School of Law and began his public‑service career with a two‑year internship in the Pierce County juvenile prosecutor’s office before joining as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney. During his nearly twenty years there he served under three elected prosecutors and rose rapidly due to his trial prowess and analytical approach. As Team Chief of the Special Assault Unit he improved investigative collaboration, helped implement countywide protocols, and led training for nurses, caseworkers, and police. He later led the Homicide Division, overseeing all homicide and death investigations and coordinating with local and federal law enforcement, and then served as Chief Criminal Deputy supervising the entire Criminal Division. With additional rotations in DUI, robbery and assault, and gang units, Jared now leverages that inside knowledge to provide clients with experienced, strategic defense.

Unmatched skill, unshakable defense. Jared gave me my life back.
Retaining Jared was hands down the best decision I’ve ever made. He substituted in just two months before trial and immediately took control like he’d been on the case from day one. I was innocent and wrongly charged, but the system didn’t care. The prosecutor was throwing every trick they had at me ...
"I have worked with Jared for over 10 years, first as a colleague and then he was my supervisor. As a prosecutor he was committed to doing the right thing for the right reason. He wasn't afraid to go to trial and when he did, he always had a thorough understanding of the case and its particular nuances. He is one of the few attorneys I would hire for myself or my family if I needed to. I have no doubt he will bring the same work ethic and intelligence to his cases as a criminal defense attorney as he did when he was a prosecutor."
"Jared is a criminal practitioner of the highest caliber who knows the criminal justice system inside out. Not only is he a remarkable advocate with nearly 20 years of complex trial experience, he works hard and is compassionate. Jared knows how to prepare a case for the best possible outcome. Anybody facing criminal charges would be smart to hire Jared. He is an exceptional lawyer."
"As a prosecutor, Jared was a formidable advocate entrusted with the most serious cases. He was extremely smart, thorough, and a savvy tactician. I would expect nothing less from him now that he advocates on behalf of those accused of a crime."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jared Ausserer is one of the finest trial attorneys I have ever known. Anyone charged with a crime would be very fortunate to have Jared representing them."
"Jared is the BEST of the best. He is smart, strategic, and a great person. He works hard for his clients. Jared is the first person I would recommend if my family/friends need an advocate."
"Jared is an exceptional lawyer. He is one of the best trial lawyers in the business. He is smart, strategic, works hard, and looks out for his client’s interests."
