Excellent Attorney

I hired Christopher Taylor as my attorney for my divorce case and he was phenomenal. He listened to my concerns and helped me during the process. He cared about the situation for my safety and my child. He helped me keep a level head in a very stressful time of my life. I could not have done it witho...ut their assistance. I strongly recommend.

The Best Representation by far

Chris and his legal team has by far been the best lawyer I've ever had. Having gone through a divorce where I was accused for anything under the sun, Chris not only was effective in putting together the case, but represented me superbly in front of the judge. Chris and his staff are honest, ethical a...nd true to representing the law and defending his clients to the fullest. I feel very lucky to have found Chris to represent me in my case.

Representing his clients in their best interest

Mr. Taylor has been an exceptional representative for my divorce. He placed my interests first, but made sure all parties were informed and suggested the best avenue for finalizing a lengthy process. If I had hired him first, I know I would have been less stressed and more informed. He is caring i...n his opinions, but ensures you are being represented in the best possible manner, and had my best interest in mind with all the choices he gave me during the process. I would highly recommend Mr. Taylor and his staff for exceptional representation. Thank you.

Maybe better for women

My experience hiring Chris for a divorce was that he seemed to be philosophically or religiously predisposed to the idea that kids belong primarily with their mom. If you are the mom, or a father who doesn't mind having limited time with your kids, this could be fine. If you are a man the wants half ...or more residential time, then I would consider other options.

This is a review from a 2014 collaborative case, which is a different process than traditional litigation, which makes up most of my practice. In collaborative law there is less focus on positions, and more focus on healing and finding a win-win through a team approach. I strongly support the collaborative method. I was only involved for part of this case. I appreciate this feedback and think it is really important to hear. I do not see myself as philosophically, and especially not religiously, favoring fathers or mothers and have represented many unique parents over the last decade. Since this is from a few years ago, perhaps I was in a different place then, but I will re-evaluate myself in the present based upon this review, as it is very important to me to represent each parent equally. In my experience representing parents, grandparents, single parents, and LGBT parents, I focus on each family's specific dynamics, the best interests of the children, along with my client's specific goals.

Worthless consultation

Total waste of money. When asking for help for an equitable divorce, he kept asking how much are you willing to lose. When stating I wanted to split everything equally and fairly, he kept asking on a figure that I will be able to lose?!?!?

Consults are usually only about 45 minutes, which goes very quickly. I'm sorry this person didn't find the consult valuable and I'd be willing to talk with them again. I don't know which consult this was, but I can say that I purposefully challenge people in consults to see if they can consider alternatives, or even alternate ways of phrasing a question, and be flexible in their thinking and approaches to a problem. Finding solutions isn't about rigidity, it's about thinking dynamically and responding to alternatives to see if they could also work for a client's goals. In a way, I'm trying to provide a brief service in a consult and also weigh whether I want to work with someone long-term. If this person did say they wanted an equal division, and I asked this person how much they were willing to lose, and they couldn't answer that question, or got frustrated at that question, then I learned something about them. It's a pretty easy question really, if they want an equal division, then they are willing to lose 50% of everything in theory. In my consults I try to do a lot of listening and asking questions, before I give advice. People know more about their lives than I ever will. I try to be compassionate and also straight forward. My practice has been so full that I haven't taken new clients in quite a few months, but I'd like to get back to doing consults because I enjoy meeting new people and seeing how I can help.

"Chris and I met recently through the Skagit County collaborative divorce community which he's taken the initiative in forming. Though we've not yet had cases together, it's obvious to me that, in addition to his obvious leadership skill, he's a smart attorney and someone who is both honest and trustworthy. I've been doing this kind of work a long time and can recognize who is sincere in truly wanting to help clients and who is willing to walk his talk. To do this kind of work requires a capacity to stretch and grow, to see one's own shadow, and to discover the times and places one gets caught. That's not an easy for anyone. I definitely see that willingness in Chris. He clearly cares about doing good work. I look forward to partnering with him on what will hopefully be many collaborative cases over the years to come."
