My goal is to provide aggressive, effective defense for my clients. Facing a criminal allegation can be a very stressful experience, and I work hard to achieve great results and communicate effectively with my clients.

Since graduating at the top of my law school class half a year early, I have focused on defending clients charged with criminal offenses throughout Western Washington. I opened my office in Marysville, Washington with no clients, and quickly became one of the most successful attorneys in Snohomish County through hard work, strong legal analysis, and unusually good results.
Unlike some defense attorneys in this area, I have never been, nor sought to be, a prosecutor. My allegiance has always been to the defense of individuals who are being prosecuted by the government. I will not go easy on the prosecution, or sell you out to make a quick deal with former colleagues. I will fight for you, and you alone.
I routinely go to conferences and seminars to keep abreast on the new trends and tactics being used throughout the country. My results, courtroom presence and dedication to my clients has resulted in prosecutors and judges referring people they care about to me for help.
When I am not working, my hobbies include fishing, boating, playing golf and spending time with my family.

Replied last April 26, 2024This review is extremely frustrating to read. I was the second attorney on this matter, and he made similar complaints about his prior attorney that turned out to be unfounded as well. Ultimately, continued representation on the path this client wanted would have exposed him to significant additional criminal liability and other negative impacts. As I learned more throughout the representation, it became clear that the risk was greater than initially thought. After consulting with several colleagues it became clear that I had to withdraw as what this client wanted became untenable. I offered and gave a refund significantly higher than described. I suppose in theory I could have finished the job and kept all the money, but my ethical duty is to protect my client, not maximize profit. This was explained to the client on multiple occasions - that I didn't want to wind up with him in a much worse spot than he had been in previously. Representation of this client involve a significant amount of calls, emails, texts and zoom, almost to an oppressive level. That is in addition to the legal work and research. The amount of time and effort explaining the situation to this client was immense. We are talking hundreds of text messages, a lot of emails, phone calls and zoom. Unfortunately this client refused to or was unable to see his true predicament and additional criminal liability, and is choosing to slander me as he did his prior attorney.

Bad Lawyer Didn’t show up to court!
Brian Ashbach is a terrible lawyer! He failed to read thru the notice sent to him from the opposing court and FAILED TO SHOW UP TO COURT OR NOTIFY HIS CLIENT OF COURT! Who was then picked up on a warrant and incarcerated bc he didn’t know he had missed a court date! Do NOT HIRE BRIAN ASHBACH!

Replied last August 14, 2023This is false. This client repeatedly violated conditions of release and was warned not to. The issue was multiple instances of letting the battery on the gps monitoring unit die for 24+ hours. The tribal court set a hearing to address the issue and failed to send proper notice to both me and the client. As soon as I found out about the hearing I drove to the court but the client had again repeatedly violated the same conditions and the court issued a warrant for his arrest.
